I read this article 5min ago --> Are Glock handguns really safe?

now my questions are:
- why do glock make his barrels this way? I mean, what's the advantage of the un-supported case at 6 o'clock?
- why didn't glock change his barrels' design if that really is what cause kabooms?

thanks guys

It increases the reliability of feeding.  No need to change design, many pistols are constructed this way.  Some are more so than others.

Yes, Glocks are completely safe.  DUH Don't believe everything you read.  Go to GlockTalk and search KB, kB, kaBoom, etc.  Tons of stuff written about it, generally pro-Glock.  If you want an anti-Glock bias, then go to The Gun Zone and research it there.
