I think, the drop mags will fall free when you push the mag realease.

DF mags drop completly when you depress the mag release, regardless of their state (empty, full or half full)
NDF mags will not drop completly as long as they're half full or full.

My wext question is, What makes the magazine drop out or not drop out....And also, So both mags will drop fully out when they are empty?

I think the tension by the width of the magazine, the drop free mags do not fit as tight in the mag well... after that gravity takes over. The "non drop" mags fit tighter and do not fall when you hit the mag release.

Yes, both drop free when empty.

NDF bulge a little when loaded, so a slight tug needed to pull the mag from the pistol when at least half full.  DF mags are metal lined and do not bulge when full.  Therefore, the mag release is all you need for the mag to fall from the pistol.

Honestly, I've never noticed weather or not mine are DF or NDF.  After the AWB, I'm still just happy to be able to get full capacity mags for less than the cost of a limb.  It's never affected my shooting one way or the other.

I have several non-drop free magazines.  None of them drop completely free when they are empty.  As a matter of fact, I think that was the design criteria for them originally, so that the troops wouldn't lose magazines in a heated situation.
