Ok, I just got a new G30 on Monday and took it to the range for the first time.  I brought 200 rounds of Wally World special Winchester White Box ammo.

Here's my observations and experience with it:

Ergonomics-
It's a fat gun.  It will be tough to hide in the waistband.  It's not going to be a great summer carry gun.  It is fairly light for a hi-cap .45 however.

However, it feels wonderful in my hand when I'm shooting it.  It does not hold or feel like a huge gun and fits in my hand quite nicely.

Felt Recoil-
It's a very light gun for a .45, so I was expecting a decent amount of kick to it.  For whatever reason, there was very little recoil at all.  I don't have any way to explain it.  It's much less felt recoil than my commander-sized (heavy steel!) 1911 or even my full size (again, all steel) 1911.  I have no way to explain it, but I'm not complaining either.  I had heard this, but didn't realize how very right they all were!

Reliability-
No surprise here -- no hiccups at all in 200 rounds.  I kind of expect that with a Glock though (except for my G36 which had lots of problems).

Accuracy-
Holy CRAP!!!  This is the part that blew me out of the water.  It's a compact gun, with a 3.8" barrel.  At first I was getting used to the gun and was getting larger groups at 75 feet.  Then after about 40 rounds I great comfortable with how it sighted and the trigger and was getting some seriously fantastic groups all dead center.  It absolutely floored me how accurate this gun was for me.  I had heard this before, but never believed it would be THAT good.

Well, this one is certainly a keeper and is going to be my go-to .45 from here on out due to its light weight, hi-capacity, and dishwasher-safe attributes .  Plus, it's a Glock so I don't feel as bad about tossing it around .

I am thoroughly sold on Glocks.  My G19 is awesome and my G30 is even awesomer (not a word... but if it was...)

I carried a G30 for several years.  I added Pearce grip extenders to the magazines.  Made for a more comfortable grip.  I also switched out the disconnect to a ghost, trigger was much nicer after that.  I didn't have too much trouble concealing it in an OWB kydex holster.  I usually just didn't tuck in my t-shirt.

Some more observations--

Damn those mags are tough to get 10 rounds into!  They've loosened up a little, but they're still real tough.

And, the gun gets A LOT dirtier than my Glock 19 (and I'm shooting Wolf through my G19)!!  This was with the Winchester white box ammo.

It took mine a bit before I could easily get that 10th round in too.

I figured it just needs more range time, which won't bother me one bit.  Right now getting that mag in with the slide closed is really tough.  With the slide locked back it's no big deal though.

Thanks for the suggestions.  For liability purposes I don't want to monkey around with the trigger and I didn't have any problems holding the gun, so I myself don't really need the grip extension.  All I need is a bunch more mags!
