Actually, I do live around watery places (kinda swampy). Anyhow, was imagining a scenario where there's an acccidental drop into a puddle while hunting and such--wouldn't it be faster to shake off /drainthe water with the cups?

Roadrash: "NO"--could you elaborate?

And for everyone else, not intending on shooting anything underwater, thanks.

Unless it was under water for several minutes it would not be a problem because it would take several minutes for the water to displace the air in the firing pin channel. You could try it at home, place a dummy rd in the mag and load it into the chamber, put the gun in water for a short period then take it apart and see how little water is in the channel. If you think it might be a problem, get a set.

Maritime spring cups are also for 9mm only.

If water is such a big issue, try just shaking the pistol once or twice to knock the water loose before you open fire.

Actually, I just checked with my Glock armorer--maritime spring cups can be used in all models . . . .

and way overpriced

I picked up a few for about $2 on ebay. I guess it is overpriced for some tiny pieces of plastic.
$2 won't get you much anymore these days.

I use them on my 17. I also use an extended mag release, a 3.5lb disconnector, and night sights. All I need is a threaded barrel but I cannot find a Glock threaded barrel anywhere. Why do I have the cups? Simply because I can. Do I shot underwater? No, but it feels good to have

Edit: Also have an extended slide release which is actually quite nice as I hate the regular one.

THere's nothing wrong with using marine spring cups.  If you feel like you need em, get em and use em.  They may not last as long as regular spring cups, however.

I heard something similar when I got my cups, they said divers in Kalifornia People's Republik use them to fend off sharks, don't know what a 9mm bullet would do to a 20 foot great white shark....if you even see it before it cuts you in half. Anyone???

What would a 9mm bullet do to a Great White? ........nothing

What do dozens of razor sharp teeth tearing into your flesh for even a second do?? ........... you bleed out and die before you can reach the shore

Buy a factory Glock 17L or Glock 34 barrel and have it cut down and threaded by a competent gunsmith.  That's what I did with my G17.  The new suppressors made by AAC and SWR work great on a G19 or G17.  The Glock is now a bona fide silencer host.   For a G19, you must buy an aftermarket extended barrel because the G17 barrel will not work.

I have maritime spring cups in my G19, but only because a Glock armorer installed them for free.  I thought about installing them in my G17, but figured the money would be better spent on something else.  I do not intend to take my Glock into the sea, so there you go.

This place makes match grade threaded barrels Threaded Glock Barrels They are only for 9mm and .40 cal.
Glockmeister has Compensated KKM barrels that I believe are threaded underneath the comp KKM
