I have a G19 and have been considering adding a laser sight to it.  I checked out the link to Lone Wolf Distributors and saw the LaserMax system that replaces the "recoil spring guide."

Do any of you have any experience with LaserMax, and with doing business with Lone Wolf Distributors?

Appreciate any comments!

Glad to hear you are interested in a laser.

Do at least check out our integrated Glock system before you do anything rash.

It does require permanent mods to the pistol and does need to be installed at our factory.

BUT, most agree that the hassle is worth the result. The activation is really nice and it does not void your Glock warranty.

Call or IM if you want more info.

I have a LaserMax installed in my Glock 23.  I like it because it is completely concealed withen the gun.  It can easily be turned on from a firing position.  And also offers a pulsating laser, which not only give you the targetting of a laser, but will disorient and confuse an attacker.

Crimson Trace does offer laser grips, but their model for the Glock is actually on the trigger guard, which limits the use of the some holsters, such as fobus and kydex.  It also eliminated the use of your accessory rail, if you have a Newer glock that is equipped with one.  Besides that, The Crimson Trace is more expensive and require professional installation.  Unlike the Laser Max that can be easily removed and inserted in your own home.

Your other choice is rail mounted lasers.  Streamlight makes laser/light combos that run as low as $250.  There are also off-brand rail mounts that can run you a lot cheaper.  Depending on your application and budget you may look into those, too.

Hope this helps

Shark:

I would do further research, I have a P229 in .357sig with the internal LaserMax intalled. Was thinking of ordering one for my Glock, but I noticed something disturbing on my last visit to the range. I have not spoken to Lasermax about it yet but will soon...

After a session at the range which consisted of about 6 ten round mags of practice, some rapid fire some close quarter drills with and without Laser assistance. I took the 229 home and dissasembled for a complete clean up and lube, when I got to the LaserMax guide rod I noticed the Plastic cap that holds the batties and Guide Rod/Laser in place had worped under the heat.

My concern is that if the Cap snaps off under fire, the firearm will malfunction!!!

 Will investigate further with LaserMax..

Dave,
Post your findings once you get something from Lasermax re the heat/warp problem.  I'll be real interested in their response.
