Best all around 9mm Glock makes and why? I am considering the 34 but I think it may be a little too long. And then I want the 19 on a trade for my 22. Reason why I want the 19 is to conceal, but is it a better range gun then the 17? I dont no. You tellme what you think. or should I go C and then get a standard barrel at night to drop it in for self defense? |
| G19 is the best compromise, although compromise isn't the right word. I have a full set of the 9MM Glocks and they all have their good traits. The 19 is mid-sized yet still big enough to get a good grip on. I love my 26 but it's a little too compact. The 17 is great for range work but it's not the easiest to conceal in warm weather. |
| The 19 is a great al around gun for the right person with the right hands. If you could only ow n one for CCW and plinking, the 19 is where its at. I have large hands and the fullsize frame for me is the best, but my 17 is for range duty only as my 23 is my carry weapon. I really want a 17L for range shooting, but it will have to wait as there are many firearms on my want list at the moment. |
Oh F--- You! |
| I'm forced to say the G19 is the best all around Glock, but that’s only because it does everything so well in a relatively small & handy package. My real "Favorite" is the G34, but I have to give the G19 the nod by a hair based on it’s performance in a smaller package. |

I guess it really depends on your hand size and personal preference. I like a full grip. With the 19, it's a tight fit for me to get all three of my fingers on the frame comfortably. So for all around shooting, I prefer the 17 but I use the 19 for a CCW. This is truly one of those times where you really want both! |

I have a 19, 17, and 34. I like the 34 the LEAST. The 19 was my favorite for years. Still my carry and car gun. But I have found when shooting steel plates, my follow-up shots are faster with the 17. The 17 holds two more rounds, and the grip on the 17 sticks out more, which makes holster draws a little easier. For all-around use.... 19. For any kind of competition, I grab the 17. |
Why is the G34 for your least favorite? Details man, details |

I factor in concealability when ranking a handgun. One of the handgun greatest advantage is that it's concealable. If concealability weren't an issue we'd all be toting long arms. In this poll, the G19 gets the nod for being concealable and able to handle range duty as well. |
I thought it would be cool... with the 3lb trigger, and already comes with the extended slide stop and mag release, which as a lefty I typically install on mine. Well, I find I like the heavier trigger better, and I dont find I am any more accurate with the 34 than the 19. I dont find my followup shots are that much faster with the 34 than the 17. So I just never seem to reach for it. Maybe I will take it to my next 3-gun match and try it out again... but it just seems to sit in my safe, and I take the 17 more times than not. I also like the idea of practicing with what I would carry... and so IDPA I use my G19, and everything else I use the 17. Nothing really "wrong" with the 34 other than its length. |

G18 of course!!!
