I know this isn't the best place to ask about pistols but I hope some of you can help me out here.
I'm thinking about getting either a Glock 34 or a H&K USP elite in 9mm for shooting practical pistol. However been based over in the UK the only place we can shoot pistols are on some of the surrounding islands (Isle of Man is my closest) This unfortunately means that my trigger time is going to be fairly limited and I'm not gonna have the option of trying the guns before I buy. So I was wondering what is the best option open to me H&K or Glock? I'm gonna be shooting in standard division. Your thoughts please.

i like HKs better myself

h/w, glocks are the best, lower costing, guns out there w/ a more durable finish

and the mags are usually cheaper than HKs

so i guess, do you want a manual safety? do you think that you would like the HK or Glock's grip angle/contour better ( i like the HKs better)? trigger--consistant pull or SA/DA (although i hate the feel of Glock triggers, its always consitant)?

Ill post my reason when I have more time, but I own both and I have to say I like my HK's alot better than my Glock.

I was just considering the same question and ended up with an HK, even if it did cost more money...  For me it was grip angle, quality (even if it's just perceived) and ergonomics.  I'm sure both will do you just fine.  Make sure you test fire both before making up your mind!

For practical shooting you can draw "cocked and locked" (at least in IDPA).  H&K pistols offer this design feature where as Glocks do not.

H&K, like someone else posted above, also "point" better (the grip angle isn't so acute).

I'd go with the H&K elite myself.

Get what feels best to you. The best thing is to try them both although that is not always an option I know.

Having owned both, my preference is the glock for the following reasons;

Faster / stronger trigger reset
Lower bore axis
Lack of external controls
Consistent trigger pull
More simplistic design and ease of parts replacement

You really need to shoot both and decide for yourself. As a Glock and H&K owner I recommend you try and spend a little time with each before you buy. I for one love H&Ks quality but I can't hit the broad side of a barn with mine and I don't find it to be comfortable while shooting. Sure its nice and comfy standing at the gun counter but when actually shooting it I find that I'm constantly adjusting my grip.

Every one is different so you are going to have to try both and decide for yourself.

IMHO.... HKs are over priced in all aspects. Look at the cost of their magazines. i always say  you can spend a lot more money on a gun and get a lot less.  This is true when looking at Glock and HK

I own USPs and Glocks in various calibers.  I can't seem to shoot a USP quite as quickly or as accurately as a Glock.  I think it's because the Glock's grip angle is perfect for me and it has a slightly lower bore axis.  As soon as I bring up the Glock my sights are aligned on the target.  This is not the case for all shooters.  Many prefer the grip angle of the USP.  You can't go wrong with either of these pistols but, if at all possible, put off the buying decision until you can send some rounds downrange with each of your choices.

I have owned an HK 45C, liked it a lot, sold it for a G30.
What's the difference. I shoot the Glock better.
Both are great pistols. Like i said, I am more accurate with Glock.
Would I buy another HK. Yes if they made a 10mm
