Finally, after owning this G30 for over a month, I managed to get out and fire it, as well as the G21 and Panther Carbine, today. Well, I have to say that all you guys that said it is great to shoot, RIGHT ON! Recoil appears to be no more than my G21 and extremely manageable. I am really pleased. I tried several double taps to the chest area and kept it in that vicinity every time. If your hand fits around the G21, you should have no problem with the G30. The only exception would be the length of the grip. I added the Pearce extension and the channel plug. They make a world of difference.

I have been looking for a baby glock for the past two weeks and I finally found a deal that I really liked.  I managed to pick up a lightly used glock 30 with four mags (2-9rd and 2-10rd), adjustable sights, and a lasermax laser for $500.

After carying the Glock 21 for most of the past three weeks I am glad to finally find my new little buddy.

I am curious just how compatable your G-30 is to some of your accessories for the G-21?  I have a few holsters for the G-21 including a SOB, shoulder holser rigs, IWB holster, etc.  Does your glock 30 mind being in your G-21 holsters (given it would not be ideal)?

I wanted the smaller glocks because of their size but I had always left the option open for the big baby glocks because of the firepower they afford.

I bought my very first Glock a few months ago and am extremely pleased with my G30.  The Pearce grip makes a huge difference.  My only complaint is I don't get enough range time to shoot it!

Another G30 lover here!
I even shot my first, and best, USPSA match with it.
I've been using my Baby Eagle .40 ever since and still learning with it.

I've carried the Glock for CCW for a few years now.
Just for your information...
I'm 6'2", 206 (or so) lbs, with a 36-38 waist.
My favorite methods of carry are as follows:

GALCO Royal Guard - this is what I use the most.  It's actually not my ideal holster, just the best one I have found so far
www.usgalco.com/HolsterG3.asp?ProductID=909&GunID=58
Tommy's Gunpack - medium size.  The 30 just fits.  Zipping it up is a bit snug, but ripping open and drawing is fine.

Dillon Belt Slide - This seems harder to conceal with my available clothing.  If I'm weaing a jacket, it's okay.

Smart Carry - even some folks have fun making taunts to those who use one, I like it a lot.  It works in certain situation I find where I cannot use a belt or shoulder holster.  It's either this one or the fannypack then.

Here's a shoulder holster I'm still working the bugs out on

Ken Null USH - I really like his SKR for my S&W 642.  The Glock is a bit heavy for this style of shoulder holster, but I think it will be a good carry method once I have the straps just right.

Here's the other holsters I have and don't use anymore:
El Paso Saddlery Double Agent
Cen-Dex - I had this made a few years ago as an IWB.  It was never comfortable for me with the belt loop against the gun.  I have been modifying it with some kydex and leather.

Gould & Goodrich - I don't care for the thumbsnap, but other than that, it's a fine holster.

Uncle Mike's soft shoulder holster - I'm still checking this one out.  It might have a use for hiking, boating, etc.
and
The Glock plastic holster - I thougt I'd give it a chance.  It's the one for the 21, but my gun fits fine.  I don't like the way it draws though.

Since you have a 21, I figure you have tried the 21 mags in the 30?
I have, and I like to carry one for backup.  I use the adapter for mine.

Welcome to the Glock 30 club!

As far as holsters go, I have a tactical thigh holster that I normally keep the G21 in. My G30 is in a leather Gould & Goodrich Yaqui paddle holster. The G21 also fits this holster should I want to carry it someday. I also have a matching magazine pouch that fits either mag. I  like having the diversity of this G&G holster.
