Red. Bought the blacks and the slick ones. Same result.

Preordered a few. I have some shields and the PSA's. The Shield have ran really well, but only lock back on empty maybe 75% of the time. Had a few failures with the PSAs and they rarely (if ever) lock back on an empty slide. Hopefully these are better, we shall see.

Both of my 43x work perfect with the shield mags but I know others have had problems.  I’ll be hard pressed not to buy a couple OEM ones…once I can figure out how to get them behind enemy lines.

Unnecessarily wider.  Nobody else seemed to need to coat their metal mags in polymer.  Should've contracted Mec-Gar from the jump.

I've been wanting another 48 MOS, so I'll pick one up when they show up at the LGS with the new 15 rounders.

Now that the 15rd OEM mags are available, is anyone considering moving away from the 19? I'm heavily debating that now. I'm only slightly slower 19 vs 48, but prefer to carry the 48.

Also, I put another 150 rounds through the Derya/ ACT 15 rd. mags yesterday for anyone interested in those. No issue with 124g FMJ. Next range trip I'm going to see how they do with 147g Ranger HP's.

I like the 43X for what it is, but I still prefer a larger gun. I won't be letting go of my 19.

I won't be getting rid of my G19's but I am always looking to go lighter and slimmer.  If the new 15 round mags work just as reliably as the other Glock mags I'll probably change my EDC to the 43x.  Even though I still carry a badge, I work indoors and do digital forensics.

I got 8 sheild mags and 4 psa mags and not one of them will 100% lock back. It blows my mind how some claim theirs does. I’ve had a ftf too, and finally got tired of fooling with them. The oem 100% locks back and yet to ftf. I’m not saying the ftf’s were happening a lot, just a few. In all my guns with oem mags ftf doesnt exist. Onlky gun(s) ive ever had that ftf was lcp and i got rid of both of those junks.

I have 2 G43X pistols. 1 is set up with the Shield metal mag release and Shield Arms mags. They work perfectly fine. I even have a couple of the SA mags setup with +5 Taran Tactical Base Plates. Those also work perfectly.

In my 2nd 43X, I kept the OEM mag release & use OEM 10rd mags and 15rd PSA Micro Dagger mags.  Last year, PSA sent me 4 new followers, springs, and base plates for my 4 PSA Micro Dagger mags because they were not locking the slide back.

You should contact PSA about your Micro Dagger Mags not locking the slide back.

I had several of the grey black follower PSA mags, some new some bought used. Contacted PSA and they sent me upgrade parts with red followers and new springs. The red follower sits higher in the mag when empty so it contacts the slide stop better. Send them an email and get your mags fixed.

That solution kinda sucks imo, looks almost g17 length. The whole point of th G43X/G48 is concealment, of which grip length is a primary factor for printing.

A flush 13rd would have been preferable imo. Although really you'd think they would master a flush 15rd given that Springfield has a smaller 15rd pistol with the Hellcat.

My assumption is they really wanted to do the indented mag catch notch vs. a hole to maintain compatibility with OEM plastic mag releases.  Doing the indented metal there takes up some room inside the mag so they had to start the internal taper from double to single stack sooner. You can tell by the diamond shaped indent in the sides, that is what provides the internal "ramp" to taper the bullets into a single feed, it's a bit deeper and more pronounced in the Glock mag than others like the Shield or PSA ones.  Plus designs with a longer tapered section do tend to be a bit more reliable.

If you use the magguts followe and spring (cut off the rivet holding the bottom bracket on) and use a tartan +1 you can get 8 rounds in a mag that’s basically the same size as a factory 6 round mag

I concur.

I am guessing the need to match the aftermarket competitor mags was just too much so they went this route.
The only hyphenated names I like are cartridge names......30-06, 30-40, 38-55 etc.

No tks, I like to stick with OEM, while they may work for most, I will spend my time shooting the gun verses testing for reliability. "shooting the gun" meaning concentrating on training verses wondering if it will work.

@camarojsmith

I bought the PSA Micro Dagger before I bought the G43X MOS.  I had several PSA mags and when I began shooting the G43 they were just included in the mix along with the 10rd OEM Glock mags.  The FTEs were very sporadic.  I had been using 115 gr ammo and thought that 124 gr might cycle the slide better.  I decided to keep track so a few days ago I ran 300 rounds of 124 gr through the G43 and had 5 FTEs for a failure rate of about 1.7%.

AI kept telling me that the likely culprit was my optic screw (as did a poster in this thread) but I had made sure that was not an issue when I installed it.  AI said it was the likely problem even though I told it that the ejector/spring plunger moved freely and would drop out on its own after the back plate is removed.

I ran 200 rounds more today but only used the 10 rd Glock mags.

Zero issues.

Before long I will run 200 more, but go back to 115 gr and see if the FTEs come back.

Good luck with yours.
