| I just got my CCW and I have a glock 22 and I need something more concealable. I would like to stay with same caliber/magazines and I am getting a glock discount for being AD. My question is is a G27 with the finger extension mags anymore concealable than a G23? I figure the G27 with the finger extension is about the same height of the G23 and only about .5" shorter in length. |

Personally I would go with the biggest Glock you can conceal and in this case the G23. I have no problem concealing my G19 (same size as the G23) and I'm a little guy so I doubt you'd have any issues. With the right holster and belt you might even be able to conceal and carry your G22 |

you need to consider ow you have to conceal this firearm on a daily basis. The 27 can worn on the ankle unlike the 23. The 23 is the a happy medium between both sizes. If you really want a dedicated CCW gun the 27 will fith the bill. You need to look at your routine and figure out what you're willing to do to conceal a firearm. J |

I have the Glock 21 and I am also looking for something smaller. For me I want the smallest option available so it is the G26 or G27 for me. When I need a very small option I will not have the grip extension or if I have more options I can add one if I want... I can not further shrink the G19 or G23 later if I need a smaller weapon. I have also been considering the Glock 36 but for now I am trying to find a good local deal on a used G-26 or G-27. I figure I can always cary a spare 19 or 15-rd mag (9mm/40) as a reload if needed. Compare your Glock 22 to the 23 and I just don't see a size advantage between those two JMHO EDIT: This was a good post for me to come to a reality check.... I have many 9mm at home (MACs, UZI, AR-15 uppers) and I always have lots of 9mm ammo plus I already have a few 9mm Glock Hicaps (G-17 and G-18 Hicaps) from a G-17 I sold a couple years back.... but I do not curently have a single round of 40SW nor do I have any mags. I think you helped me from making a mistake and I will now be looking for a G26, or G-36 (and might grab a used G-30 at a good price). EDIT2: Finally found my new baby Glock. I managed to pick up a nice Glock 30 with two 9rd mags and two 10-rd mags as well as a lasermax laser for $500. Happy, happy am I although I did buy it from a dealer that is about 3000-miles from my town. |
| now you guys got me thinking about concealing the G22, I should of bought the G23 in the first place but I wasn't thinking about concealing it. I guess it wouldn't hurt to have both h.gif |
I'm sure many are of the same mind set as me....I'd rather give up a little concealability for more controlability. I'm pretty big, so I carry a G22 because that's the pistol I can shoot accurately, most consistently. I can barely hold a G27, much less shoot it well. The smallest pistol I carry is a H&K USP40c. I am however looking at a new G19, because I just can't say no.

In my (limited) experience the sub-compact Glocks are more accurate (target shooting) than the compact or fullsize Glocks. I doesn't make a damn bit of sense, but a stock Glock 30 is the most accurate Glock I have shot. However controllability, if that is a word, is more important and target shooting isn't what matters. |

I can hit a bird in the eye flyin' with my 22. ("Unforgiven" With the 27, it takes more effort and concentration, but I'll getcha all the same. I used to CCW the 22, because the compacts were so hard to find. With a Pierce mag floorplate (not the +2, just the finger lip), my 27 is easily controllable and can be carried 24/7/365...any season, any dress code. |
Amen! It does take more concentration since it's a smaller frame and shorter barrell. This is my daily carry with my Galco Concealable holster. |
