Well I am waiting patiently until I get off work tomorrow night to go get my Glock 17. I wanted to get another 9mm. Decided on Glock since LEO seems to like the brand.Plus so many goodies to add on. I shot a friends and I feel in love with this gun. Oh I cant wait to go to the range. BTW is there any break in procedure for Glocks?

500/clean sounds good to me and I'm certainly an advocate of taking care of your personal weapons...let others do the tortrure tests.  So, here's an example case for you:

The local shop/range where I work rents Glocks for 2+ years before we swap them out.  During that time they recieve NO cleaning, lube, etc.  They come hot off the range and go right back on the shelf.  The ONLY time they ever malf. is with new (read limpwristing) shooters.  Our 17 is probably the second most rented (19 is first)  and it runs like a champ, so congrats on your new gun!  Love it, Shoot it, Clean it...repeat.

Congrats on the new G17 man!

Run a few CLP patches down the barrel before you hit the range. Other than that just feed it ammo and enjoy it.

Why does it look like the front sight is on backwards in the second pic? What is the green dot?

Maybe it's a fiber optic front sight?
