I own three glocks, Two 23's and one 19. On all three glocks I have noticed that the guide rod aembly will not stay in it's little detent on the bottom side of the barrel. I find myself contantly taking the pistol apert and giving it a little nudge to eat properly. I do this because if you take it a and shake it forward and back with a magazine inserted it has a little rattle, this drive me nuts, so I take the slide off and seat it in it's spot, and then the rattle is gone. This is very consistent for all three of my glocks. I have never had any problems, not once, but, I notice that some people do. Might this be the culprit? It could be possible that the rod assembly does not allow the slide the move as freely as it should ,sor hinder the pistol in another way? Try this with your pistol, maybe take it down and see if the rod is seated properly and how long it will stay seated. I carry my 23 for my CCW and find myself doing this quite often. Feed back and opinions are apprecieated. |

The half moon cut-out in the barrel is to allow you a place to put the guide rod so you can assemble the gun, thats it, nothing more. The guide rod moves to its normal resting spot when you install the slide, against the polmyer just in front of the slide lock lever. The rattle is normal in any Glock. It is the firing pin. When you install the slide and you can't hear it after you cycle the slide a couple of times then your Glock is most likely dirty and needs cleaning. |
Agreed. The rod moves into the "lower" or outer resting spot after reassembly. |
