I bought a Gen 4 Glock 19 several years ago and haven’t shot it a lot but the ejection was very erratic compared to my other Glocks. I bought a Glock 48 black slide shortly after they were released and the ejection on it was perfect. The last time I shot my Glock 19.4 I was shooting some green & white box Remington UMC 115 grain FMJ. The brass was kind of dribbling out so I decided to try the 47021 ejector. I bought the Gen 5 housing from Big Tex Outdoors who promptly shipped my order even during the current mess. I replaced the factory ejector 30224 with the Gen 5 ejector 47201. I easily pushed the ejector out of the Gen 5 housings (47208) and made the switch. I then went out back and shot 29 rounds of Winchester White box 115 grain FMJ through my 19.4. W-W white box is about as weak of factory ammo as any so I decided to test it. On the first fifteen round mag I had one casing land on the brim of my hat but the ejection was stronger than the Remington ammo. I next loaded a magazine which held fourteen rounds. I had a stove pipe jam on the first round. I think this is the first malfunction I’ve ever encountered with this pistol. I figure my 19.4 has around 500 rounds through it but I haven’t kept track. I finished the mag and had one round eject rearward and land on top of my cap/head. I think the stove pipe must have been a fluke with a light charge on the first round. The recoil sure felt mild and all the other brass ejected with more vigor than with the factory ejector. In shooting lower velocity ammo in this 19.4 I would get an occasional BTF but I just liked the way my 48 performs so I decided to try the 47021 ejector. I rarely carry this 19.4 but I wanted to test the new ejector. It seems to have helped my pistol and I don’t see a downside to switching ejectors. For $10 I think it is worth a try. Being retired LE we were commonly getting pelted with brass from shooting qualifications and training. I could live with the 19.4 the way it was but I was curious. It was very windy and cool today so I just did a quick test. I’ll try some different ammo and post my results. |

I had a chance to shoot my Glock 19 Gen 4 with the 47021 ejector again today. The temperature was about 60 and I was able to test more W-W white box 115 grain FMJ, Blazer 115 grain FMJ and some standard pressure Federal 124 grain HST. I also shot a hand load with 115 grain plated Xtreme RN loaded with 4.6 grains Tite Group with WSP primers in mixed brass. Every shot except one the brass was consistently ejected to my right at 3-4 O Clock. I had one piece of brass which was kicked kind of straight up and came back drown striking the slide. The brass bounced off the side of the slide and was a non issue which I’ve experienced with other pistols. This puts my 19.4 up there where I think it is ejecting as good as my Glock 43 or Glock 48. If anyone is experiencing BTF I recommend trying the Gen 5 47021 ejector as it has definitely helped my 19.4. It is very easy to push the 47021 ejector out of the gen 5 housing and swap it into my Gen 4 housing. For $10 it’s a no brainer for me. |

I bought a 17 Gen 4 rental gun around 2014 from the range where I worked. I chose it because I was told it had the most rounds on it of most of our rentals -- a very popular choice. The thousands (perhaps tens of thousands) of rounds through it made the trigger darn near perfect. It was the first Glock I had bought in 24 years (G1, 2, and 3 did nothing for me. G4's grip dimensions sold me on it, and within 6 months I own four different Gen 4 Glocks). I swapped out the barrel with a KKM and changed the recoil spring assembly. I got consistent brass to face, enough to really tick me off. I got the Gen 5 bit as recommended for the 47021 ejector and installed an Apex extractor. Today was the first time since installing all the modifications that I chose to shoot 150 rounds through the 17 (GI Ball and some hollow points). Ejection up-angle is beautiful to 2 o'clock and back to 4, yet I still got one or two cases between the eyes and a single failure to feed the last round in the magazine. |

I have one of the first run apex extractors, it definitely provides stronger ejection. It will clear the chamber without a mag in while the factory one will drop it out the magwell. BTF still persists with hot loads but it's rare. Whatever ejector it shipped with is what I use, not a 336 or 47201. |
