I just picked up a new Glock 19 on Monday and put 300 rounds of 115gr FMJ between 2 range sessions, the second being today. Glock performed flawlessly with the 115gr ammo during both visits to the range. Not 1 single failure to feed, eject, light stikes, no problems at all for all 300 rounds. Now that I had enough rounds to feel confident on how this pistol would perform, I next loaded a magazine of 124gr. Speer Gold Dots and pulled back the slide and I had my first failure to feed. The round got stuck on the feedramp. I did the standard tap, rack, skipped the bang and the round chambered. I now tried it again with the exact same results. The Gold Dot is going nose first into the lower part of the feedramp and stopping. I know that quite a few people use this ammo without any problems so I went home to see if I could identify the problem. I had not noticed before but on my G19, the Trigger mechanism housing with ejector (per parts blow up in owner's manual) has a slight bend in it. My G22 and G27 do not have this bend. Please see photo A. On my other Glocks, this piece does not have any bends in it. See photo B to show that in my G19 this piece rides over the casing whereas on the other Glocks, it sits parallel with the round instead of across it. It appears that this is causing the round to line up slightly to the left of the feedramp (see photo C). When you let the slide go forward by either pulling back on the slide which is how I normally release the slide or use of the Slide stop lever, the round jams up against the feedramp (see photo D). Can any owners of a 3rd generation G19 verify on their Glock if this piece is bent on their pistol or is it straight? If it is bent, how hard is it to replace for the average layman? I'm sure that Glock would take care of it as I've had the pistol for only 4 days but I really hate sending pistols back to the manufacture for warranty work. The hassle and expense of shipping it to Glock,  I would rather not deal with if it is something that I could buy and install myself in a few minutes. If this piece is supposed to have this bend, any suggestions on what to check next? I'm pretty sure that this is the problem as I was able to determine that everytime I released the slide, even very slowly, the round would nose up against the feedramp. Only the Gold Dots do this as I tried to feed the practice ammo and it fed fine every time. Once the round is jammed, I notice that the bar is not over the casing anymore and pulling back on the slide and releasing it, no matter how slowly, allows the round to nose up into the chamber and seat itself. Any help would be appreciated.

My G19 is only a few weeks old to me and the ejector is shaped the same as in your photos so you don't have a damaged ejector.
I ran about 100 old Hydra-Shoks through it and no feeding problems. GDHPs are my planned round to have in the gun while in the house and not at the range (it's not my CCW). Chambering the GDHPs were no different than FMJ rounds(I've chambered the rounds and taken them out several times when handling the gun or showing it to shooting buddies that drop by). I've yet to fire the GDHPs, I plan to go to the range Friday or on the weekend. I can let you know how it goes seeing as we both have new G19s and want to use GDHPs in them.

Your ejector is fine.  I'm almost positive the problem is your mags.  I notice you are in CA (sorry! ), so I assume you are using 10rd mags?  Do the mag followers have the number 2183-1 molded in them?  Those reduced capacity mags sometimes have problems with the newer style barrel design (identified by a "1" printed after the GLOCK symbol following the serial number printed on the barrel).  The change to the barrel consisted of the bevel on the front/top of the barrel hood and a very small change to the front "tang" that interfaces with the locking block.  Apparently the newer (actually I think they've been around for a while) "1" barrels don't drop down as far and causes feed problems when combined with the 2183-1 followers on some G19s.  I seem to recall the "FXX" and "GXX" guns as being the most susceptible to this problem (I'm not sure about that, though).  I have an "EXX" series G19 and have never had an issue with the 2183-1 followers feeding HP rounds.

Usually the fix is to dump the POS 10rd mags and get the mags the gun was designed to use.  If that is not an option, I think a mag follower replacement will fix the issue.  IIRC, the newer variety of mag followers (I think there's gen 3, 4, and 5, identified by those numbers molded into the top/front of the follower) present the rounds higher up and don't cause the nose-dive problem.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm recalling that the mag bodies themselves have changed ever so slightly.  Was that what presented the bullets higher in the mag?  I'm not sure.  Either way, I think changing the 2183-1 followers to the newer designs will help.

I'd call GLOCK, tell them the problem, and ask them to send you new followers (NOT the 2183-1) that are compatible with your 10rd mags (I *think* any follower will work in the 10rd mag bodies).  I bet they'll do that and I'm pretty sure it will solve the problem.

Good luck.

ETA:  That's GREAT macro photography!

the bend is completely normal,  the problem is most likely with your mags

Rose is right on the money.  The 2183 followers have problems feeding JHP because they don't have enough angle on them to get the nose up high on the feed ramp.  If you are running mags with 2183 followers call Glock and explain your problem and tell them how many mags you have.  They will send you out new 9mm1 or 9mm3 followers free of charge.

(I *think* any follower will work in the 10rd mag bodies)

The 9mm4 and above followers will not work in the 10 round mag bodies according to Glockmeister.  He'll have to stick with 9mm1 or 9mm3.

Even though I dont agree with Rose about carrying in bars , I have to agree with him on this.

Damn, you guys are good. I noticed when comparing my Glocks last night to look for any differences, that the rounds in the G19 sat quite a bit lower than the ones in the G22 & G27. In the .40 pistols they line up almost directly in front of the chamber much like the way the rounds line up in front of the barrel on my Sigs. When you let the slide go forward on the G19, and I released the slide by hand so that I could watch the movement of everything, the barrel just barely drops down. My barrel DOES have the "1" after the serial number and my mags do have 2183-1 markings on the followers. The barrel does have the bevel up front as mentioned. I noticed when I first picked up the Glock on Monday that the followers were a different shape and style than those on my other Glocks but since I have only started owning Glocks for less than 6 months, I had nothing to compare it to. See photo.

I have also read on this board about some variations of followers being an issue and I see now that it appears to be a common problem. I'm glad to see that the fix is so simple. Thanks Rose for your detailed solution to my problem. Thanks to everyone else who contributed to validate the solution to problem. To you die hard Glock fans-I have been a loyal Sig owner since 1987 when I purchased my first P226 in 9mm. I swore that I would never own a Glock because of the way they felt in my hand and that they were ugly. I finally decided to purchase the G22 about 5-6 months ago just to have a pistol from the "Dark Side." As stated, I now own 3 Glocks and have to admit that I love the simplicity, design, reliability, and function of these weapons. I still own my 7 Sigs and will not be getting rid of them but I'm sure that there are more Glocks in my future. Just for info, I was not one of "Those" Sig owners who trashed talked your beloved Glocks, just wouldn't own one. Thanks again for the help and I'll see about getting some different followers.

Call Glock today and have them send you new followers; 9mm1 or 9mm3

Vote somone in that will do away with the silly bans, and then you can get the mags that were made for the gun.

Trust me, I'm trying. It's just that everyone else around me is either misguided, stupid, or simply doesn't care and we keep getting these idiots in office. They really believe that a "Psycho" with a gun and lots of ammo in a building full of unarmed people who cannot by statute defend themselves, is less dangerous if he is restricted to 10 round magazines. They believe that the gun is problem and not the psycho with the gun. The psycho is a victim of his environment you know and would be harmless if he did not have easy access to all these guns. I would get rid of the psycho personally but what do I know?

Received the new followers today and installed them. Sure enough the Gold Dots fed without a problem. I took the pistol for a short run at the range and not even a flinch from the Glock. It ate the Gold Dots, reloads, new 9mm, and some left over CorBon. Thanks again for all the help!!
