| i picked up a G17 i bought on another forum it is does not have the GA factory markings does this change the value in any way. It is a 3rd gen. it has IAI Knox TN on the slide. Also can anyone tell me what VTD on the barrel means? This is my first Glock so i am trying to get info on it thanks |
IAI Knox TN is an improters mark. Rumor has it this was a Tenesee based company that was formed to handle the importation of a few large quantity firearms deals. Most of those guns ended up at discount retailers like SOG and others. It sounds like you got one of the trade ins that SOG was selling a short time ago, based on the marks on the slide. They were advertised as new and unissued. The lack of GA markings would help to confirm that it was a surplus import. I have no idea what the VTD means on the barrel. Probably some kind of ID mark put on there by the original owner/agency. I doubt that it would have any collector value, but it will be a good shooter. (Like all Glocks.) Did it come with real Glock magazines, or copies? The ones I saw came with fake Glock magazines, no liners and no marks. |
| All the mags have Glock on the bottom plate also on the followers it has 9mm1,9mm2,9mm3 the 4th mag is loaded so I am not sure if that has a 9mm4 or not. Three of the mags have Smyrna GA on them on does not. The one that doesn't is pre ban I am guessing it has nothing about LE or Gov on that one. The person i bought it from said he bought it from a friend that had bought it new. Gun is in good shape has no wear marks on the barrel just a little wear on the outside of the slide and I only paid 400.00 for it with the 4 17 round mags. |
