[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Spring weights in Glocks

You guys, who have knowledge/experience, school me on spring weights. So here is what I know. G17/22 use a 17lb Spring. I'm tuning up a G22 police trade in, with some good stuff. Just bought a lone wolf stainless guide rod, and an ISMI 17 lb spring. Why do guys use 15,16' 18 lb. springs? Thanks guys.

my G34 and G17 use what you describe... stainless guide rod and ISMI 17# spring...

I reduce weights depending on load and it speeds up return to zero improving split times. Also running lighter striker springs are required when you reduce the recoil spring to a certain point because it will keep the pistol out of battery.

I run a 20# in my g23. When shooting suppressed it wouldn't consistently return to battery. Solved it.
