I ended up with a Gen 4 19 slide and was thinking about getting it working.
I looked into those 80% frames but they didn't interest me. GB has complete Black frames for $220.00 & complete Green (my preferred choice) frames for $280.00 Is that the only game in town? |

I haven't asked a dealer but from posts i've read in the past Glock will only replace a messed up frame. Yet frames are on GB so.... eta 159...but a g3 http://www.combatarmory.com/new-g17-gen-3-completed-lower/ |

people part them out and they make money on selling a lower and an upper half. I have seen complete frames recently for 150 ish eta 159...but a g3 http://www.combatarmory.com/new-g17-gen-3-completed-lower/ Quoted:

Don't give up... keep looking. Have you Googled "Gen 4 Glock frame for sale"? Worth a try. You might find a stripped frame and then buy the parts to assemble it.Â
I guess I'm a glutton for punishment... I bought two gen-3 Glock 19 complete uppers (though not at the same time), and then the stripped lowers, just for the experience of building my own Glock, so to speak. I'd never assembled a Glock before. I did learn something, and enjoyed doing it. But, honestly, you can buy a complete, brand-new Gen- 4 (or 3) Glock all day long for less than buying the parts separately. But where is the fun in that? :-) |

Glock will NOT sell a frame alone. They will replace a cracked frame. But, you must have the frame to
give them. If your slide is gen 4, you need to stay with gen 4 frame or have more problems. Dealers part out the guns and make more money doing it. That's why you're finding them on GB. Your options for a 'Glock' frame are: 1) get one from GB. 280 is spendy for a 19 frame. I paid 280 for a G20/21/40/41 grey frame. 2) Buy a gen 4 19 take the frame and sell the rest to recoup some money or just sell the slide you bought because it's serial number is not gonna match your frame, and if you bought a new G19 g4, it's serial numbers all match. Hope this helps. I did a G40 MOS build. Cost me more, but I have what I wanted; a G40 MOS grey frame. |

The serial number issue a good point but no law is being broken so i've been going back and forth on how much I care about that. New green glock is looking north of $600.00 Because of shipping and transfer and if I got lucky and sold my slide for say $300.00? i'd be better off. But that's if I can sell the slide. And I'll be honest, I hate selling stuff i'll probably never do it
Decisions, decisions. |

Good points to consider and I agree but already having the slide and only paying $100.00 for it kinda makes paying $280.00 for the frame not that big of a hit. I'd have a new gun for $380.00 (+ shipping and transfer that I have no choice but to pay). Decisions, decisions. I paid 500 for a G40 MOS slide, which was new, fully assembled. The dealer had taken it apart and was selling in pieces. You can find one (G19 slide-usually gen 3 though) for <300 probably, all in. Non-matching serial numbers only matter when you go to sell it, unless, you part it out the way you put it together. This was my dilemma when i did my G40 build. It's non-matching serial numbers. So if I ever decided to sell it, I'll part it out like I put it together. |

I ended up buying the frame off of GB Still way cheaper then buying a new green glock and I don't care about the serial# not matching. http://i1166.photobucket.com/albums/q613/Johnharden810/fullsizeoutput_4e6_zpstkiqubvl.jpeg~original http://i1166.photobucket.com/albums/q613/Johnharden810/fullsizeoutput_4e5_zpsjvbqmwtm.jpeg~original |
