So  I am in the market for a new project/beater gun. Needless to say a police trade/used glock 22 or 23 fits that bill. Here is my dilemma which to get? This gun will get carried a lot, maybe light mounted, etc. Plus i want to scratch my glock itch. I like a glock 23, but you pay a premium cause it's the holy grail frame size like the g19. I could care less about carrying the extra .5" barrel of the g22.

I am contemplating getting a used g22, carry it for a while, etc and then maybe do a grip reduction (g17 hump sucks) and grip chop for the g23 mags....maybe. I have a fullsize 4.5 XDM that I carry every day. I have no worries about carrying a fullsize frame.

Also what "mods" do you recommend? I am planning on a 3.5 connector. maybe some stippling and warren sights.

Recoil Gun Works has an unissued Gen4 G22 with night sights for $429.   Why go used when you can go brand new for same price:

Police trade ins offer a lot of value for the dollar. There are some nice Gen 4 Police trade in 23's on Gunbroker for $350.

I love my police trade in 22. It shoots great.

All I do with my guns is drop an OEM - connector in and call it good.

22/23 mags are the current deal of the day at GSSF matches at $10 each.

Polish, factory "-" connector, and heavier trigger spring.

Honestly, my stock G34.4 has my favorite striker fired trigger.

I guess I am just not sure which to get. I already own a full size .40. I would like to tinker with this as a project and MAYBE do an undercut trigger guard, stippling, chop etc.....but that is second to adding another handgun to the table.
