Any one having issues with the +1 extension?  Just got the glock 43 and had two fail to feeds while using the +1 extension.   Both on the last round of the mag.  The other magazine ran fine.  This was with 115gr practice ammo.  No issues with a handful of different hollow points and it ran 50 rounds of 147hst without issue.  I called taran because to me it seemed like a spring issue but they said the +1 should work fine on the factory spring.

Not familiar with the Taran + 1 mag extension for the G43, but I have the Pierce + 1 extensions on my G43 mags and have not had any issues. The instruction that came with the Pierce + 1 extensions said it may be a bit tight initially, but would loosen up. Maybe that is the same for the Taran + 1 extension? Of course, I don't do the 7 rounds, + 1 in the chamber. I just use the 6+1 mag with 7 rounds in it and go with that. No problems so far.

Pretty much every discussion about Glock 43 magazine extensions that I've read in the past six months has had at least a couple posts mentioning failures to feed on the last round. Most people seem to attribute this to using the factory spring with the extension, speculating that the spring doesn't have enough power left to push the last round up fast enough under certain conditions. I tested a Pearce +1 in a rental G43 a few months ago and experienced one such FTF with Speer 124 gr +P ammo. I ordered a couple of the +10% springs from the Glock Store to use with my +1 extensions just to be safe. I'm still testing them to see if they function reliably before I'll be comfortable using the extensions. I love the feel of the Pearce extensions - I just want to make sure they work every time.

Thanks, I'll have to buy a few of those mag springs.  Have they been reliable so far?

The jury's still kind of out on that one.  They've worked perfectly with ball practice ammo (maybe 200 rounds through each of the two I have), but I tried to test them with defensive ammo at the range last week and ran into problems with the Vickers extended slide stop that I had installed.  You can read about that in my post here, but it was causing the slide to lock back prematurely, so I'm not sure if I was having any issues with the hollowpoints I was testing (Speer 124 gr +P Gold Dots, Sig 124 gr JHP, and some old Winchester SXTs). I need to get some more JHPs to test - I normally carry Speer 147 gr Gold Dots but am running a little low and don't want to use them up.  I feel pretty confident about the extra power springs (which are listed here at the Glock Store), but I still think the design of the G43 may just not be as tolerant of some types of JHPs, so I want to continuing testing to make sure they'll work reliably with my carry ammo.  I'll report back when I've had a chance to test them some more.  I do also want to get one of the Taran +1 baseplates to test, but I've been procrastinating on that while trying to find the best deal on them.

A quick update on my experience - went to the range today and put 300 rounds through my three magazines (two Pearce +1s and one Vickers +2). 150 rounds of Speer Lawman 147 gr TMJ, 20 rounds of 147 gr Gold Dots (my carry ammo), and 40 rounds of Browning 147 gr BXPs (on sale at Academy) worked flawlessly. I tried 20 rounds of 124 gr +P Gold Dots in the Pearce +1 mags, and I had two failures to feed. One was on the last round, but the other was on the second round in a magazine. In both cases, the slide jammed half open over top of the round, with the nose of the round pushed against the feed ramp. I don't plan to carry 124 gr +P Gold dots, but I was hoping they would work. I wasn't surprised though, because other G43 owners have reported problems with that particular round.

I experienced one today.  Last round of the mag that had a +1 Taran.
I'm ordering some stronger mag springs.

Good info.  Maybe if enough people have problems Taran will include a stronger spring.  Sounds like that's what they eventually did for the +2s.

I've tested both my G43s extensively.

Pearce +1
Mag Guts +1
Vickers +2

All work flawlessly with 147gr AE and 147gr HST

I'm around 4-500 rounds through each gun. Vickers mag release, slide release, Ghost Edge connector and Ameriglo sights are only changes

I took my Taran +1 magazine to the range today to test it out and had two misfeeds over the course of about 100 rounds, which I wasn't expecting. I was shooting Speer Lawman 147 gr TMJs, and the slide rode over the last round in the mag twice, closing about halfway and jamming the round against the feed ramp.  This is the same issue I had with my Pearce +1 extensions, until I replaced the factory springs with G43 Extra Power Mag Springs from the Glock Store. I haven't had any issues with the Pearce +1s since then, except with some Speer 124 gr JHPs.  I'm not sure of the exact cause, but it looks to me like the factory spring can't push the last round up fast enough for the slide to catch it as a result of the extra distance it has to extend due to the mag extension.

I took another new Vickers +2 equipped mag (my third) to the range as well, and while the other two worked fine, this one cause a couple of the same misfeeds I described above.  This extension had also given me trouble with the first magazine I installed it on, only letting me insert one additional round.  I switched it to a different mag just to see what would happen, and I was able to load 8 rounds in that mag.  Not sure what the issue is, but maybe the spring is slightly defective (although I can't see any difference between it and my other ones).  Kind of a bummer - I was 100% confident in my Vickers extensions until this one.

I plan to continue using these two mags at the range to try to break them in until I'm sure that they're working reliably.  I may order the extra power spring for the Taran +1 (turning it into a $56 mag) to see if that fixes the problem.

My +2 for my 43 would jam if I put 8 in the mag and one in the camber.
That was when it was new, now that it's had some use it doesn't do that anymore.

I haven't found any extensions that I trust for carry duty in my G43. It's flawless with factory magazines, and only gets carried that way. An extra round or two isn't worth the risk of a malfunction.
