I have a red beam mounted to my G17 trigger guard. Every time I fire more then 1 round it slowly starts to climb down. After the mag has expired it is almost completely pointed at the ground. The instructions it came with said not to overly tighten the screws so there is movement up and down. I tried over tightening them anyway but it still moves. I do have the acc rail on my G17 but did not want to spend $350.00 for a combo red beam/flash light. So I bought an $80.00 red beam but now I have this problem. I bought this device because I had a burgler in my moms house that me my 2 kids and wife where staying with while our new home was being built. It turned out that this guy was an X "Friend" of my mother in law's who made a spare key and was entering her home unwelcomed. She told him to return the key but he refused. I informed her that if I saw him lurking around late at night that he would be hit with gunfire. Apparently he did not fear. late one night my wife saw him walking through the house. he entered my mother in laws's room but I think when he saw my oldest daughter in the bed with her he changed his plans, what his plans were is beyond me. Anyway this is when i decided I needed a beam on my gun as my family are in the house and being that my mother in law lives in a town house I fear missing and bullets flying through walls to hit innocents. I even bought a box of Fleer frangible 9mm rounds but was told by the women at the gun shop not to use them for self defense????? .  I ask what will the point of my up and down moving red beam if I have to take multiple shots. I have since moved, and no a shotgun was not an option, the mother in law found my AR in her closet and kindly told me to "Get this thing off up outta here". Any opinions on how to fix my slinky. Thanks. Sorry for the long tale from the hood.

Just get rid of the laser. Yer better off with a flash light than a laser.

Use the frangible, get your money back for the laser. Get a m6 shurefire clip on flashlight. The flashlight is a good indicator of target aqusition, and you get to identify your target. At academy sports they are less than $100 and the batterys last 20 to 24 hrs so no opps factor. Also if you are forced to defend yoursel aim center mass, because us humans tend to shoot low at night. Youll still get a spine hit if this happens to you. Do not talk to your target, Give it comands, if it does not follow them , engage it.... Good luck.

Also bring your mother in law to the range.... Maybe it has been awhile since she shot. Or even thought about it.

I told her to re-key the locks . She claimed she could not because the home owners association said all the door handles and loks had to be the same in the sub division. She still has not changed them. I guess she must want him to continue his late night visits.

Re-keying door locks does not mean replacing the entire lock or door handle.  Only the "core" or "tumbler assembly" (I'm not sure of the correct name) needs to be changed.

Your family needs to get out of your inlaws house ASAP if your inlaw won't take basic security measures for the house.

Our new house is finished and we moved in. So its not our problem anymore. Thanks for your input.
