| Planning on getting a Glock 22 gen 4...and am wondering what other models you guys might suggest ? Depending on who gets elected, I figure there might be at the very least a momentary shortage...was thinking maybe a Glock 27 to go with the Glock 22....I like the ability of the 40cal Glocks to be able to also shoot 9mm and 357sig with conversion barrels...was also thinking about the 30s or a Glock 21..... thoughts and suggestions are appreciated! |

While being able to shoot multi calibers is cool I do not like this idea for myself. It would be easier and more cost effective to stock pile tons of 9 rather than 9/40/357 and only have 1/3 of each instead of a whole bunch of 9mm.
I have 40/357 pistols and I am trying to get rid of them because I never shoot them and cost of stock piling for all........ |

I like the G23, it's a good size between full size and compact. fits me well. I also have Lone Wolf 9mm conversion and a 357 Sig barrel
for it and they work very well. I will say the 357 Sig was hard to find. I finally found one on EE at a good price. I then went back a bought a G19 because I wanted a dedicated 9mm Glock and really like the size. I was originally going to get a G17 but it just didn't feel comfortable to me, so the M&P FS 9mm fills that slot. |

If you're trying to hedge against a panic, 9mm is most popular, followed by 45 ACP. The advantage of the 40/357sig Glocks is that the only part change required to convert between them is the barrel. If you want a G22, I'd try and find police trade ins. You get get Gen3&4 G22/23/27's dirt cheap LEO trade ins are everywhere. My LGS has 7 G27s alone sitting in their used case, ton of 22/23's Gen3&4 and they cannot sell them. |

i have a herd of 9mm and 45 glocks. SO i took the plunge on a Glock 22 RTF. WOW. I like it. Down loaded to a mild 3.8 grains of WST over a 180 SNS cast its a peach to shoot. Very accurate as well.
These days the police trade ins offer a lot of Glock for the dollar invested. Thinking I Might try to sneak a second one in at the first of the month |

Nothing wrong with the G22 and G23
I'm a 9mm/.45ACP guy, but all the .40 hatred is irrational. I will say I absolutely hate the G27 with a passion, it's a snappy little shit with a short grip and low capacity, so that would be a hard pass for me. YMMV Just keep in mind that .40 ammo is about 20% more expensive than 9mm. That's a big factor for me. |
| Go for the 19/23, you can still slap in the full size mags and its a good jack of all trades gun. If you buy a 17/22 you're going to find you've limited yourself in regards to concealed carry, but its the most shootable. But if shootability is your goal you could get a 34/35 and really pack a smooth piece. So I'd say it all depends on what you want it for, at the end of the day the 19/23 size is the most popular too so if you ever need to resale its going to be the easiest to move. |
