I have a friend who has a Glock 19 MOS.  Unfortunately, at some point between the time that he purchased it and the time that he bought his RMR, he lost the adapter plates that came with it.  I have been trying to help him find a replacement set, but everywhere I have looked has the 9mm plates on back order.  I was wondering if there is anyone that happens to know of any place where he can buy replacements and has them in stock.  Thank you.

He's talked to them and they said that they would send him some.  However, that was about 3-4 weeks ago and their webstore says that they are backordered so who knows when they will arrive.

He will also need the Trijicon RMR Mounting Kit AC32064. They are available on Amazon for $12.

Why is that necessary? Genuinely curious. Does the bottom of the rmr need to be sealed?

The screws that come with that kit are what is needed.  The plate base helps to "seal" the RMR, but the screws ARE required to mount a RMR.  Most of the Glock MOS complaints posted on the 'net are from people that used the Glock OEM screws to mount their RMR.  Won't work, and the RMR will come off.  Spend the $12, get the proper screws.

Oh, and good luck finding those MOS plates.  Should be out there somewhere?

The bottom of the RMR is open and has an oring to seal the battery compartment against a flat smooth surface.  The Glock adaptor plate does not have a smooth surface so if the firearm were exposed to rain or something it could get moisture in the battery area.  Plus it comes with the right length screws.  If you use screws that are too long the plate will crack when the RMR is installed.
