Just picked up a new to me G22, to the shop's knowledge it was bought and never fired. Got it at a good price, and had been looking for a cheap 17 so I plan on 9mm conversion for this one.

Do I need anything other than the barrel, 9mm extractor, and 9mm mags? Ive heard differing opinions, just wanted to make sure. Thanks in advance.

I got a Lone Wolf barrel for mine. I did nothing but change the barrel.  It runs fine.  I have even used 40 mags and stuck 9mm rounds in them.  Not a lot but it will work for at least 5 rounds.

It should shoot with just a barrel and magazine.  A 9mm extractor helps make it more reliable though...

Another difference between the 17 and the 22 is the ejector is different...

I have a Lone Wolf barrel for my G23...as commented, I typically stick the 9mm extractor in when I shoot a match, not when I'm at the range... I have the ejector block, but have not had an ejection problem with the .40 ejector...if I had to carry it, would stick the 9mm ejector block in it

My G32 I had a few issues until I dropped in the 9mm ejector.  I never changed the extractor though.

My G35 runs perfect with a storm lake conversion barrel and g17 mags. Before you spend money on the ejector and extractor, try it with just a conversion barrel and some 9mm mags. It may run perfect as is.

I have a 22 that I put a barrel and RSA in. No problems with magpul mags.

the barrel is what you need.  You can use the .40 mags with 9mm, but I would only use them on the range.  If you're going to carry it as a 9mm get dedicated 9mm mags.

Thanks all, the ejector is what some people had suggested I may need as well and I couldn't remember. I have plenty of 9mm mags, so ill give it a shot with just the conversion barrel first. Plan on going S3F after good results with their 19 barrel.

If you plan on just using it for 9mm and never going to switch back to .40 then changing the extractor is a good idea, and they're cheap.  I think about $5-$10.

Ill second this.

Just a barrel and ejector for me.

I just swapped barrels, even used G22 mags for 100 flawless rounds.

My Glock 23 with the 40-9 conversion ran like a top with PMAG 9mm mags and Glock 9mm mags. I actually shot my 23 more with the .357 sig barrel in it that my .40.

I say go for it OP

Edit: I never changed my ejector and I fired over 2,000 rds in my 9 conversion barrel no issues at all. Just use 9mm mags don't try to use 9mm in the 40/.357sig mags
