This is going to sound silly, as much as I pay attention to details...

I always thought the 30S was a G30 with a 36 slide...

Looking at my 30S tonight, I just noticed a SF on the right side of the frame....maybe I forgot, I don't shoot it that much, but I assume this is the Short Frame.

Is the frame on the S model that much smaller than the standard frame?

2mm IIRC, basically the same size as a gen4 without any backstraps added.

It is a 30SF frame with a 36 slide.

Yep, that's correct. You can tak a gen 3 slide and it WILL fit your 30SF frame. It will fit, kinda sorta, a gen 4 slide, however, I do NOT reccomend it. Theree will be a big gap.

The 30SF frame is the SAME size as a 30 gen 4 WITHOUT backstraps in case you were not aware. Your slide from your 30S will NOT fit a gen 4 30 frame.

Yes actually it will.

36 slide is the same as a 30S as I verified from Glock tech support. Mine works great. Gen 4 frame. Goes bang every time.

Thanks for the great replies...

SF frame with a 36 slide...got it.

Great little pistol, very snappy. I just installed a Vickers tactical mag release and an enhanced slide release.  The pistol already has Meprolight night sights and a Wolff guide rod with Wolff springs.  I installed a "-" connector a few months ago.

I love mine. I had a SF frame at first but then saw a lot of members here using a gen4 frame so I upraded my frame with a new pistol and sold the 30 gen 4 slide on the SF frame.

I have a friend that has both and to me what a difference in the 30sf grip. The standard 30 feels like a brick in my hand but the SF models are just the ticket. Now I want one of them.

BAD INFO ABOVE: It fits exactly like a Gen4 slide.  NO DIFFERENCE.

My apology on the 30S. That is NOT the case on all gen 3/ Gen 4 slides.....interchanging with gen 3 and gen 4 frames.Try it on others and see the difference.

in any case, it was not my intent to post info that's not correct. Admittedly, I never tried to place a 36 slide onto a gen 4 30 frame.

I have done so on many of my others and no go as far as fit. The slide fro opposite gen will slide on, but, you'll see what I'm talking about. So, give it a whirl and see if you see what I saw.

In any case, if I was wrong, i do apologize and accept my mistake. (I say mistake: I accept what others have said since I have not tried this on the 30S-gen 3 36 slide to a gen 4 frame (using the gen 3 36 slide)

No biggie,  I only posted the correct info because when I went to buy one to swap out the slides I got conflcting info if it worked or not.

Gen 3 and Gen 4 Subcompacts as in the 26, 27, and 30 all allow the slides to interchange.  The 17, 19, 21, 22, 23 do not as they leave the gap.
