Hey GlockTards, about to pull the trigger (no pun intended), on a Skimmer Gen4 trigger for my G17.  Any of you guys using them?  Online reviews are good, Jeff Wilson over at Glocktriggers.com seems very accommodating, answered all my questions.  Feedback please Fellas, Thanks!

It's a gimmick. Stick with OEM parts in your trigger. Nothing wrong with the Glock 3.5.lb connector.

I have Skimmer triggers in 2 of my glocks, definitely not a gimmick.   I have tried other aftermarket triggers in the past and the Skimmer is my favorite.   I agree the stock trigger is fine, but if you can afford it, the skimmer is a good upgrade.  It also does not bypass any safeties.  I bought an orange rear cover plate to see for myself that all the safeties still work properly.

What's special about it? I might build a secondary g19 I'm so afraid of upgrading my carry 19 because of reliability. My gen 4 g19 has a Gen 3 g17 trigger and that made a world of difference. Trigger upgrades on glock where not really something I wanted to deal with until I felt the nastiness that is the g43 trigger. That thing feels like it's ready to break and get stuck/locked in the back position.

I purchased a Vogel trigger from glocktriggers.com and it turned in my little Glock 19 into faster times than I get from most of my 1911's.

I did not want a trigger than reduced the pre travel which to me at least is part of the safety cycle on the DA only striker fired trigger.  Reset and highly polished 3.5 lb connector work great.  Expensive but a great trigger.  .

I have it in three of my own glocks and have installed it in 3 other glocks for other folks. I enjoy the reduce pretravel and short reset.

I have it in 2 out of my 3 blocks and the only reason why its not 3 out of 3 is because of the cost of $160 each one... I mad that I bought it for my Glock 19 first because after that I wanted the same feel in all my Glocks. Not a gimmick there is a noticeable difference... Im not claiming it will make you a better shooter but it is a noticeable difference.

Received and installed the Skimmer Trigger today.  All I can say is WOW, so far!  Taking it out tomorrow, see how it goes.  As for just dry firing, it feels like a different gun!  Certainly NO Gimmick, Extreme difference!  Trigger goes from "mushy" Glock feel, to CRISP, as soon as you put pressure on trigger face, NO noticeable creep!  I definitely think it's overpriced for what it is, Stock Gen4 trigger, polished to the nines.  Will keep you posted!

I don't really understand how you can be blown away with how well something works yet still think it's overpriced.

Shot my new Skimmer Trigger.  You couldn't get a Crisper/break glass, trigger pull!  I still can't believe he achieves this with just polishing!  No matter how good it is, $150 is an expensive polishing job!  ALL parts of the Skimmer Trigger are STOCK Glock parts!

This seems kinda shilly

I know it's all oem parts but aren't some of then modified or do these use the lighter weight 4.5 lbs springs?

Extremely. The skimmer is anything but crisp. You cannot get a crisp pull with a minus connector. Polishing a minus connector doesn't magically change the geometry. I had a skimmer. DK triggers are better and I still found ways I like to do it better than any kit.

It's not just polishing, he also limits the trigger reset distance to shorten the take up. Technically all the parts are not factory parts, since the trigger shoe has a screw installed to accomplish that (the screw is not factory. ) On mine the shortened travel also deactivated some of the Glock factory safeties.

The GlockKraft trigger and Agency Arms triggers are the only ones I've tested that do not defeat the factory safeties. There's a whole thread on this here though, worth reading.

Calling BS on this one!  The Skimmer Gen4 trigger I received DOES NOT alter ANY of the Three Glock Factory Safeties!

He was talking about the one he received not the one you received maybe his set screw was not in the right spot when he got it.

With all the responses, I'm figuring the new Skimmer triggers are different than previous models.  Mine also doesn't have a set screw on it!

I tried the Skimmer.  It sucked.  Exchanged it for "the edge".  Night and day difference.  The Edge is the best I've tried.   I've had Glock Kraft, zev, Vanek, etc.

Look top-down onto the trigger shoe where the slot for the trigger bar is. Do you see something shiny running across the slot?

I hope you know how to test the trigger for safety and have in fact tested it yourself... and are not just going off what's written on the label.

Just because the safeties with the trigger at its new resting spot are not technically disabled (i.e. the cruciform is sitting on the edge of the drop safety ledge, and the top of the trigger bar is right on the edge of the firing pin safety) does not mean they are still as effective in preventing a round from being fired if the gun is dropped. And that's really the standard, right? Not a theoretical safety but a real-world practical safety?

See the thread on flat triggers for some testing protocols.
