anyone have a good trick for getting the bottom/base plate off the magazine? I have a g27 that I picked up in a trade, it came with two magazines with the extensions already attached. I bought another magazine and an extension, but I cannot get the bottom off the magazine.

I depressed the button, and pushed in on the sides. I can see the locking clips that are holding the plate on, but no luck. I've tried using a pair of vice grips to push the sides in. I'm afraid I am going to crack or break the mag.

any suggestions? thanks in advance

I literally JUST did my girls, 43.....per instructions, you have to push the pin down about and inch, till it sorta kicks to the side. holding it with the round view away from you, use your punch pulling it towards you.

Use alittle more force with the vice grips. You are not going to crack the mag, it has a steel lining inside of the polymer.

got it!!! ended up using a second pair of vice grips to pull the plate off. the Pearce grip went on very easy after that.
