I just added my name to the list for one each of the above pistols in Gen4 at my favorite gun shop.  They are estimating a June 2016 arrival.

So the question is:  What red dot sights for them?  What are the choices?  Are they all considered "generation1" RDSs, so should I wait for the next gen??

So many questions!

That's has nothing to do with his question.

OP, take a look at the Trijicon RMR. Particularly the RM06 or RM07. They have auto adjust as well as manually adjustable settings. I prefer the smaller RM06, with its 3.25 MOA dot, as it's small, but you can make it "bigger" by turning the brightness up.

LGS near me says they have the 17 in stock. Not sure how much or what the going price should be? I may check it out...

Wow, June?

Local shop has the 19 and 17 MOS in stock already for $599

I'm back and forth between a slide mill and an MOS.

A shop in College Station TX has a 17 MOS full gray.    Pretty cool...

I'm in the same boat, I'm also considering the dueckdefense RMR plate that fits in the rear sight slot... What would be ideal would be able to just buy the new slide from Glock....

Assuming you are buying the gun new either way, is there any advantage in a slide mill over the MOS?

Custom fit to the optic.  Good for retention, bad for future upgrades.

This. Plus once it's milled, it's milled.

This...why would Glock build an entire system to the lowest common denominator?  Trij RMR is the benchmark on RDS...everything else comes up short...

Because maybe they know that most people that buy a $500 Glock might not want to spend $400-500 on the best RDS out there and will instead buy a $150-200 RDS because it's "good enough".

Marketing is a cruel bitch.

Just picked one up today. Need to get an RMR for it.

Are they doing to sell the slides separately for people who already have 17/19s?

The Dueck Defense setup is awesome. I really like mine.....people who haven't used the setup are bitching about "short sight radius" for the BUIS, but I've hit man-sized steel at 30 yards with no issues with just the integrated irons.

99.9% of the people taking about the Dueck Defense setup have never used one.

Can you IM me with the name and perhaps expand here or in the IM about what makes it "right" compared to others out there?

Thanks
Wes

I just bought a g19 M.O.S.  The standard 19 wad $560 and the M.O.S. was $600 so it wasn't a $200 upgrade.  I would never have gone that route for $200.  I don't plan on running an RDS on my carry gun but for an extra $40, if I get the urge down the road, I'm set.
