I know exactly the issue you are talking about. I have 5 gen 4 Glocks. Four of them work just fine with aftermarket springs. One of them just refuses to work (does exactly what you're experiencing) with anything other than the factory spring. I've tried trigger springs from three different companies and none of them work in that gun. I've changed everything short of the actual trigger housing with no luck. It's not a big deal. Just roll with the factory spring. |

Make sure the spring was installed by the gunsmith correctly, not backwards or binding? Have you tried re-installing the spring yourself after you put back the factory spring and it was working normal? I haven't tried to reinstall the other spring myself yet, it was my first time breaking the gun down that much and at the time I was just happy to get it back to working order. |

Also is it common to switch Gen4 trigger bar for Gen3 G17 trigger bar? Yes.....plenty of us switch to the GEN 3 smooth face trigger bars in our GEN 4s. Thats the first thing I do to any of mine There can be problems of not having enough engagement between the striker and the cruciform using a Gen 3 bar in a Gen 4 gun. An orange half backing plate is nice to check the engagement. That said, I have a Gen 3 smooth bar in my Gen 4 19 ... YMMV Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Why are monkeying with something that was Perfect to begin with? Of course you're gonna' have issues with aftermarket CRAP in your gun! Running aftermarket trigger kits in both my glock 19's, no issues what so ever......one is a Ghost.......and the other is a Lone Wolf...........Ive shot plenty of IDPA matches with the Ghost trigger and no issues.............. |

i have the 3.5 Ultimate Ghost connector in mine. I also had the Wolff 6lb striker spring and trigger return spring in for few months and could not come to like the springs, so I took them out. Anyways, when the trigger return spring was initially installed, it was not properly seated; therefore, the trigger would not reset automatically. All that was needed was to make sure the spring was in properly and seated. I now just run the 3.5 connector.

Had same issue on my G4 19. Zev 3.5 and Zev springs. ended up taking it to glock { I live near it} had it reset to stock. Mine wouldn't reset to full safe {safety plunger wouldn't engage unless I moved it forward physically}
I changed back to just the connector with stock springs and no issues at all |

Why are monkeying with something that was Perfect to begin with? Of course you're gonna' have issues with aftermarket CRAP in your gun! And there it is! I'm surprised it took that long. I use after market springs, connectors, guide rods, triggers, strikers, slide stops, mag releases, barrels, and anything else I choose to change. If it's a quality part from a quality manufacturer, there's no reason it shouldn't work when installed properly. I love my Glocks and have several. They are not and never were "Perfection" It's a slogan. Glock is the only, and I mean only pistol that some people seem to think should not be made to perform better than factory. Dave N |
