On the front of a Glock mag is that "slot" where the mag locks into place. I recently ordered some factory 15rd Glock 19 Mags and I noticed that the slot doesn't have that silver metal "tab" on one side. I compared them to my other factory Glock 19 and Glock 17 mags and they all have the silver tab. So I started thinking that maybe the new mags I ordered without the silver tab are not right and I need to send them back. However, I recently purchased a brand new Glock 26 and of all 3 of the factory mags that came with the Glock 26, not a one of them had the silver tab.
So what is the story on the silver tabs? Are they supposed to be there? Is it an old thing and Glock doesn't make mags with the silver tab anymore? Why do all my other Glock mags have that silver tab but the mags that came with the brand new Glock 26 don't have them? Just curious if anyone might know. Thanks! |

Unless you have a GEN4 GLOCK with the magazine catch reversed for left handed use, any G19 magazine will work and there is no "wrong mag". The first GEN4 magazines had the catch cut all the wat through the polymer shell, showing the metal lining. The current GEN4 magazines have the left side catch molded with polymer still covering the catch like the right side, so basically it is now a mirrored image. |
