I see a lot of the you tube videos use blue 242, even the 10-8 performance video on sight installation. Did anyone ever have a front sight come loose using blue loctite ?

Ever?  I'm sure somewhere in the history of front sight installations and thread locker use, it's happened. Probably from poor application.

I use it for every front sight installation.

I use red Loctite on all Glock front sights that  install, It is easy to remove with a little heat.

Clean sights with alcohol and dry, then blue loc-tite.  No backouts.

This is what I do for all sights and scope mounts.  It is import that you degrease and dry the threads before applying the Loctite.  Never had one come loose, even with rifles over .40 cal.

The instructions that came with my Heinie sights said to use red loctite so that's what I went with.  Just my $.02.

I use red loctite on the front sight since there's so little thread engagement. I've never needed heat to remove it, and it feels about the same as having blue loctite on a larger screw.

Shot my G22 front sight loose a few times shooting 3 gun. Replaced it with a combat dot.
Blue Loctite. It's still there.

Degrease well and clean. I've used blue for years and thousands of rounds. Zero issues.
