Anyone have a Primary Weapons EDS slide for their Glock?
The company touts a 4 pound trigger pull without messing with the connector in the frame..........has front serrations, which I like, and comes with Trijicon HD night sights installed, which will be cool to try out....... I had a gift card, so I ended up paying $280 for the slide after the gift card was applied. Its on the way to me........now I have an excuse to buy a Glock 17 this weekend.....because I don't even have a G17 frame to put the EDS slide on.......looks like I'll just sell the factory G17 slide, minus the barrel and recoil spring.

I am just getting back to Glocks after being away for a while, so I'm not up to date on the advancements in the last several years. I do like the looks of the machining on the slide, and am interested in how many the PWS slide will compare to the OEM slide with work done to it. OP, if you don't get a 17 I volunteer for you to send it my way so I can review it as I just got a 7

I was thinking he improved trigger pull was a result of tighter tolerances or maybe polishing of the safety plugger recess. But your theory is probably more likely. |

How much does it cost to mill front cocking serrations into a slide and re-coat it? It looks good, but I agree. For the money, it needs to incorporate optic mounting like the Unity setup. |

These slides are not, and never were intended to be a low-budget aftermarket replacement. They're made by ZEV for PWS. That should tell you why they're not cheap.
These are supposed to be duty type slides. I'm hoping they will cure BTF since Glock doesn't seem to be able to.... |

A standard Glock slide with the same ZEV drop-in parts should do the exact same thing, and be just as capable "duty type slides"; unless there's something about the slides that is not talked about in the marketing material. I wouldn't think it to be a "low-budget replacement", but I'm not seeing the value in them past the, admittedly cool, aesthetics and the (ZEV?) internals. IIRC BTF can be corrected with an Apex extractor. Shouldn't take a $450 aftermarket slide. My point was that, for the price, there are other options with more "bang for the buck" such as the Unity Tactical unit which allows for modular optics mounting. |

It arrived today. Didn't get to put it on my G17 today, since I was on night shift last night and slept all day.
Fit and finish is amazing. Just as good as my Unity Tactical ATOM G19 slide, but they're both made by Zev, so that makes sense. Here's a few pics - will post more tomorrow, along with some initial impressions of it on the gun.

The whole BTF problem is out of spec Glock slides. The Apex extractor itself has helped a few, but it's not a guarantee or even a high probability that it will. If the ZEV slides run like they're supposed to, then I think they're worth the money. Start with a Caspian slide and get it fully finished and running on a 1911 (using all your old parts) and it's at least a $1K job from any decent 1911 plumber. |

Ok. Got it put together finally. A few impressions -
- The slide is extremely well-built, with attention to detail. Zero machining marks. - In addition to the front serrations, it has a lowered ejection port. - As far as what's done, it looks like the slide has Zev internals. - Trigger pull isn't as light as I was expecting, however, it's advertised as a duty slide. I'd say the pull weight is slightly heavier than my G19 with factory " - " connector. Not by much though - and the donor frame was a 2 day old G17 I bought specific for this project. - The Trijicon HDs are awesome sights.

I've never shot with standard sights and a suppressor, but a lot of folks say they just look through the sights like an OEG and they work fine They don't clear my 1.25" GM-9, but it's like an OEG, especially with the "fire of a thousand suns" brightness of the yellow/green front sight.......I prefer suppressor sights, but these will do.....especially with how well the front sight jumps out at you. |

There's only so much a slide can do for pull and still have a strong reset and a reliable striker hit.
The lower can get a 6# trigger spring, polished, different connector, etc. So is anything on the slide proprietary? (I may have missed it if you mentioned it.) |

Polished everything. Lighter saftey plunger spring and striker spring it looks like. |
