Filled out my app for the LE trade 19 I just got, and what the heck, decided I'll have my LE trade 22 slide sent in as well. That one already has night sights but they are a little dim. For $57 each I'll get fresh night sights and new slide parts, can't go wrong. |

Just mailed my 19 slide, thanks ARF! I opted for $400 insurance so I can get a new pistol if the post office loses my slide. I stripped it so hopefully they'll put new internals in it for me as well. If this goes well I'll have them do my other Glocks as well.
ETA: Mailed 12/29/15 Received back with new night sights and internal slide parts: 1/15/2016 FedEx tried to deliver the day before but they needed a signature and I wasn't home. |

They denied my claim, I appealed it. They denied my claim again. ....I appealed it. They denied it again. I appealed it again. Mind you, this entire process took 5 months, and I had already refunded the buyer of my upper his money. The finally told me that since it was firearms parts it was not covered. Fuck the USPS. Do yourself a favor and ship important shit thru FedEx |
but as others have said. they have great night sights. what I like is they are very visible in the day time with my old eyes

guess I'll share my own story / time line.
I called glock to ask what to do. They said wright down your info and send it to us along with a note explaining what you want. I printed the form even though the tech said I didn't need to and mailed it to the address on it. I sent in the form and the stripped slide. I sent it USPS flat rate priority mail for $6 and change and also put $400 insurance on it. I don't trust the PO for anything so that cost me $11 and change total. 1-2 shipped 1-4 received by glock 1-6 glock called for credit card info 1-9 fedex tracking email 1-13 received in mail slide was freshly stocked with new parts and by my midway count is about $90 less shipping . They did not include a recoil spring assembly. To sum it up, I spent $60.85 for sights & $11ish shipping total of $72.50 This truly is a no brainer. I already sent in a gen 2 19 last saturday. If I sold the parts i'd make about $15 and get new sights to boot!. Does anyone know if they use any thread lock on the front sight screw? |

As funny as it sounds the main thing I like about having night sights is being able to see exactly where my gun is on the night stand or wherever it may be, I am of the school of thought that if it is dark enough to need night sights you need a light when you're shooting. If the light burns out so be it but shooting with nothing but night sights is a giant pain in the ass and is a last resort. At most of the distances I will encounter inside my house I could probably do almost as well point shooting and be faster. Either way I want the light to be sure. |
