Not new to Glocks but, new to gen 2 glocks.
I nabbed a beat up one for 200$. The guy chopped the frame to 19 length and its gross. Above all else, it is having trouble resetting the trigger. It appears to also have an aftermarket trigger installed. I am going to take it to the shop tonight, tear it down and start working on it. Anything you guys can give me a heads up to look for that would cause it to not reset? Also, can I use a gen 3 trigger kit in my gen 2 if I need to change it all out? As always, thanks in advance. The first two photos are what I was sent by the previous owner. He said he was going to chop it to subcompact size but lost interest.

He was asking 300 and I offered hime 200 if it had magazines. It came with a gen 4 g22, a gen 3 g22 and a gen 3 g23 mag. " />
The rest of the pictures are with my gen 3 glock 19 factory gun on the right and this b*tched up g22 on the left. " />

As you can see he tried to chop the grip to 23/19 length and cut the front about 1/16 of an inch shorter than it should be. My thoughts are to just cut it square to the magazine and possible add the smallest magwell funnel on the market to give it a gapless look. I do not know much about the internals of a glock but, my biggest question is, do I have to order gen 2 parts or will gen 3 parts work for what I need? The trigger will currently reset if I ride the slide back to the front. If I fast rack it, it will not reset. I do not want to shoot it unless this is corrected. Intentions are to add a 9mm lone wolf conversion barrel as I currently stock 9, 45 and 357 .I spoke to a tech online yesterday at lone wolf and he said that they will offer a conversionn to be able to run the 22 slide on my 19 in the near future. Worst case scenario I have that as a place to end up. I want to shoot lead in this and have a "cheap" glock. Oh and he also tried to "buff" off the city proof mark on the slide. And did a High Speed undercut. " />

Thanks for the attention and info. Bev |

What is it, a G-17? If the doubling problem doesn't have anything to do with the striker lug/cruciform, 'sear tab' connection then it's most likely going to be a connector issue. I'd suggest completely changing ALL of the springs; and, if it is an aftermarket trigger bar, get yourself a new trigger bar. Most gen 2, and gen 3 parts are interchangeable. I'd further suggest that you call Smyrna, give them the pistol's serial number, and ask about any specific issue, or parts, 'upgrades'.
If you don't know how to adjust a connector, go to Ghost Inc.'s website, and read Ghost's Standard Installation Instructions. In your situation, I think I'd be inclined to tighten up the long leg of the, 'L' angle by very slightly bending it inward in order to eliminate the doubling problem. Just saw the pictures. That Glock's been shot a lot! I don't like the wear marks on the cruciform, 'sear tab'. You may need a new striker, and trigger bar. If it were mine, I'd find someone to bead blast the frame. (A trip to Lane Owens @ Cold Bore Customs might, also, be in order.) As for the rest? Glockmeister, and Glockparts.com should be able to help you out. Good luck! |
