I put up a Sig P320compact for trade and someone has just offered me a lightly used, never competed with Glock 24c.  Admittedly, I wasn't familiar with this model so I've been doing a little research.

What say you all about the 24c?  Worth having for someone not yet involved in .40 or competitive shooting?

Should I really only be looking at the 22 or 35?

Anybody ever try to take a deer with one??

I had a 24C for a while.  It was a neat pistol, but I wasn't into .40 that much so I ended up selling it.  They are one of the harder to find models so they do get a premium, but they also appeal to a smaller number of buyers.  Mine was very lightly used and I think I sold it for $650-ish.  So price-wise it's not a bad deal for you.  If you are thinking about getting into competition just keep in mind the 24 (and 17L) are too long for IDPA use.
