Anyone here have them? Happy with them? Do they change the balance? Help with loading mags a bit faster or just look Cool? I'm considering putting them on my G17 and 34... Why, I think figure/hope they help reload a bit faster , they look cool and I can't leave shit alone... |

It will definitely aid in faster reloads, plus static weight is good weight. It will help make for a flatter shooting gun overall. |

I really like the Zev magwell.
I was going to order one, found that they were out of stock and had my order cancelled, then ordered a different, cheaper magwell. Then Zev shipped the one I had ordered (it was backordered, not cancelled, was my mistake). Anyway, once I had them both in hand I decided I liked the Zev better.
I will be using it on a Glock 35 for USPSA Limited. |

I've got a Zev Magwell on my 35 that I use for USPSA Limited. I like it. I was against them at first but after playing around with it and shooting a few matches, I don't know how I got along without one.
It does help on the reloads (bigger hole to toss a mag into), but for me personally it helps me obtain the same grip more than anything. I don't know if it's just me but when I grab the 35, I can feel the magwell along the bottom of my hand and I know I've got a good grip. It may just be me and it might be all in my mind too...or I might be doing it all wrong but it works for me. Another good thing is Ray and the guys at ZEV/GW are good folks. That goes a long way also. |

Does anyone see a need to glue it on as well? Mounted on a gen 2 it seems to be able to flex on the front edge downwards, so I am concerned with damage to the grip. Any other no permanent solutions? Sounds like you're over tightening the screw that holds it on. They specifically say to snug it only so that you don't experience the very issue you're describing. |

Do you have to run an extended base plate to use any magwell? No, but it's obviously going to be more difficult to lock the mag in without an extended base plate. The extra attention you'd have to give to ensure it properly locks in would probably mitigate the extra speed the magwell would give for loading. |
| I have the IDPA slim on a suppressor host Gen3 17 and I have the heavy polished SS on my Gen3 17 Zev SOCOM ABS RMR set up. the IDPA Slim is great the heavy SS has issues locking the mag in with Zev TTI base extenders and magpul fast plates. You really need to push them in hard or you can push up at the front of the base and its easier. With standard glock 17 and 18 mags its just fine. |

The stock magazine base plates are flush with the bottom of my ZEV magwell, so it would be much easier to insert a magazine without fully seating it. Might be different for smaller magwells. Quoted:

Thanks to all for the replies, its a pretty expensive venture then if you go with a magwell and have to change all your base plates. |

I wouldn't say you have to, but I'd put in some practice with the stock mags before using them in a match just to make sure you don't have any problems seating them. |
