Any word on what's going on with these?  They were announced at shot and I am yet to see a single one in store or online.... Meanwhile the 43 gets announced and starts shipping the next week

No idea. I ordered a blue label G40 during SHOT and I still have no ETA on its arrival.

My gut feeling is that Glock is placing priority on getting G43s out the door and letting the G40, which is likely to not have as many sales, sit on the side burner for a little longer.

Long-slide 10mm with a cut-out for red dot optics such as an RMR.

I spoke with LC Action, the "Blue Label" dealer in my area last week.  I was told they are not expecting the Glock 40 MOS until June or July at the earliest.

As always, YMMV.

Good to know, I want one before deer season this year anyway.

I need one to carry when I'm bow hunting etc on my property, logged it around 8 years ago and it's getting thick.  I was out turkey hunting the last few weeks and the amount out bear sign is disturbing, I know a handgun isn't best but figure it will help. I figure I can shoot some deer with it also.

I paid for mine today.  Can't bring it home yet due to the state waiting period.  It came in yesterday (8/3) to L C  Action which is a Blue Label distributor.  They said they just got in 3, and I was the first in one to pay.  The other 2 are already spoken for.

Glock had to change the slide width on the 40 MOS.  I think they originally intended it to be the width of a Glock 41 MOS.  The 40 MOS has the same slide width as a normal Glock 20.  I guess they needed the extra metal and weight for taming full power 10mm loads.  The 6 inch barrel and slide looked out of place comparing it to the 41 MOS they had on display.  It is a big gun.

They're available on our Glock stocking dealer order form. I'm assuming Glock is letting dealers order them and they just aren't shipping yet for whatever reason.

That sucks and seems like lazy engineering to me.

Edit: is that slide G24-length or G35 length?

I'm not sure about the width being an issue.  Do the G41 and 30s 45acp guns use different diameter barrels than the 21 and 30?

What I'm thinking is Glock made it easy for the G40 to go the aftermarket barrel route.  I would guess a 6 inch barrel for the G20 would just "drop in" for the G40.  I'll let others experiment first though.

And yes, it is the same length as a G24.  It looks a little better since the G40 as a longer dust cover.
