I am looking for a new concealed carry holster for my Glock 23c. I want to carry it in the small (large) of my back with a draw to the right hand. I currently carry my Glock and 1911 in a Galco hip holster and want to conceal a little better. Any suggestions.? Thanks.

Edited to add: I want it to carry inside the pants also.

Hope ya never take a tumble on your back. SOB holsters can be quite damaging to your back in falls.

I am pretty good size fella. I think a tumble on my back with a weapon pushing in to me will bw the least of my worries.

I should hav also posted in there that I want to carry inside the pants. In my line of work, contractor, I want to conceal better than I do now.

+1... I strongly recommend you heed this advice. I carry my G27 in a strong side belt holster, which is faster than SOB, more comfortable when seated and much less risky. Avoid SOB.

All the more reason to be worried about the crushing impact to your spine a fall backwards on a hard surface would cause.

Take a look at Blade Tech.  They make alot of in pants holsters with adjustable retention and cool stuff (the UCH verstion).  They prices can be reasonable and the people are great.  I would recomend any of their products.

It's your back, but if concealment means anything to ya, and your a big boy as ya say, then weak side IWB ("cross-draw") would not only fit your concealment requirements, but decrease the time it takes for presentation of your pistol (not to mention the comfort aspects when compared to SOB carry, especially when seated)

The actual physical time it takes, when drawing from the SOB should be considered, a big guy like yourself tends to telegraph his intentions to those one "might" not want to telegraph anything to......, whereas I find the turning to walk away from a confrontation a quite opportune time to conceal my cross-draw from the one person I don't want to see it. Re-facing the threat w/ the Glock already in hand and hidden behind a leg or turned body has definate advantages IMO.

Mike

ps - "printing" is an issue with any SOB carry modes, that and the fact that "most" of us lack eyes in the back of our heads which prohibit us from realizing how bad our CHL pistol is showing.......

if you're a big guy  how fast  can you even draw  from your SOB? I doubt you'll be quick enough if i'm 10ft away. Smooth is fast.

Not only that, but you cover your body with the muzzle when you draw out of a SOB holster, not something you wanna do in a high-stress situation in my opinion.

Since you already use Galco holsters why not try the Royal Guard? I carry my G23 in the Royal Guard Holster and love it! Very comfortable and no worries about hurting my back.
