I am debating on what model to buy.  I will use it for plinking mainly, but once ina great while it will be used for carry.  I have owned the 17,  but want to try something new.  The 17 with 3 high caps NIB is $ 399.00. The 34 is $484.00.  Is it worth paying the extra money for the 34 ?  Thanks.

Both will be very accurate pistols.  I think the 34 has the extra length to give the 9mm the extra power needed to knock down steel plates in competition.  If plinking and carry are your main uses go with the 17.

Both are good. The G34 already has the 3.5# connector, extended slide release lever and magazine release catch installed. The adjustable cheap plastic sights are still cheap plastic sights. They run about $100 more in my area.

I just bought a G19 and actually prefer it to the G34 after a little practice.

Get the 34. Better controls and the extra sight radius make it superior to the 17 IMO.

Either way, that is great price. I paid $450 for my 17 ten years ago and that was a good price for my area. Glocks are all over $600 in the People's Republic of Maryland.

17

its a lot cheaper than the 34, and i would not think that the extra bbl on the 34 would be much more beneficial than the more compact 17

spend the extra $100 on ammo and mags and a good holster

I bought a 34 three weeks ago, and 450rds later, I have not looked back. I will however be purchasing a G19 for CCW soon.

i just purchased a 17. it is an amazing pistol. they are going for 500 in my area, so that 399 is a hell of a deal. i would not hesitate to recomend the 17 to anyone. although i am not familar with the 34. i looked on glocks website and it does not list a 34.
