Our local Cabelas has the Glock Gen3 17C and 19C on sale for $469.00. I have a coupon for $80 off of $400 or more plus about $200 worth of Cabelas bucks. I have a Gen3 19 and 26 but I'd like to get either a 17 or 34 for the range and occasional comps. Is the 17C worth burning my Cabelas points on at under $400 with the coupon or should I just keep building points and wait to get a regular 17 or 34? I really don't have a need for the comp model but getting into a 17 pretty cheap would be nice.

You could always get an extra, non-ported barrel (used on the EE for around $80-100) if you dont like the porting. For range use, teaching people to shoot, fun practice, the "C" should be perfect. For personal defense and competition, I'd avoid the poted barrel.

I've been thinking about a "C" model blue label just for fun.

If you cash in all your chips then that would be a pretty dam good price, About $180 plus tax for a new G17? Not to shabby at all, Just don't think you would be getting hurt at all.

I am not a competition shooter, but I think the compensated barrel usually bumps you up a class above a "stock" class.  Might want to check in to that.

Sorry, misread that.  I have nothing to add.

The C models are my favorite Glocks.

Good for new shooters, fun for plinking, and frankly even after shooting them indoors/in the dark, I'd have no problem using one for social work.

Great guns.

You should have pulled the trigger. You'll love the G34, but that was a really good price with all of your discounts.
