Lone Wolf has a few slides and barrels.
http://www.lonewolfdist.com/ There are others, but I've bought from them in the past. The Glock factory stuff will fit because the 17L and the 34 use the same frame as the 17, it's just a longer upper. |

Are there no 5" slide and barrel options for the 17 frame? |

If you want to suppress a G17, you just need a G17 threaded barrel (which will obviously be longer than the slide). If you want a suppressed G34, you will need a 34 slide and an even longer threaded barrel. Personally, I'd rather have a 17 for suppressor use; a suppressor adds a lot of length to the already long 34. I think a lot of people would even prefer the shorter 19. |

The 17 will handle better than a 34 with a can on it though, because it's shorter. |

I have a Gemtech Multimount for use on my G17, and it seems pretty long. Although I don't have a threaded barrel for my 34, I could imagine that combination would be pretty front heavy. I'm happy keeping mine on the 17. |

I find a can (Ti-Rant) makes a 34 just a wee bit too long and nose heavy. Perfect (for me) on a G19 though. Function wise, they both for me have been 100%.
And yes, while it's been said already, a 34 slide and barrel assembly works on a 17 frame and vice-versa. |

There are three ways to go about getting a threaded barrel, in order of preference IMO: 1 - buy a glock factory barrel, left hand threads 2 - get a 34 factory barrel threaded down to thread pitch of choice 3 - aftermarket barrels |

The 34 by itself is one of my favorite Glocks, but you hang a can off it and you might as well get an SBR. |
