Just picked it up today. Gen 3, 27 with glock night sights. Love it so far and can't wait to shoot. Couple ?'s tho, this is my 1st glock. The mag release seems to require a significant force to drop the mag, will this "break in" over time? Also seating a full mag into a closed slide seems impossible, is this gun not a +1 capacity? Will it only accept the mag with an open slide? Thanks for the help

As far as the mag release being hard to depress, I'm assuming its due to excessive pressure being seated in the gun with a full mag.  I hope that makes sense.  The mag spring should "break in" with time, when it does it will be easier to seat in the gun.  Hope that helps, I could be wrong.

Yup.  Both issues are caused by a full mag with a "new" spring.  It puts a lot of force on the slide and the mag catch.  As the spring gets broken in , the force lessens.

The only surefire way to fix this issue is to shoot it.  Repeat often

Thanks everyone, I think I'll shoot t a lot and see how it works! also, anyone know how these glock night sights will hold up if I use it for one handed manipulations? Like using the sights to rack the slide? I heard glock sights are cheap and break off easy. Any truth to that?

afaik glock ns are steel, someone who has a pair can correct me on this, or google it. racking with steel sites with the proper catch will work well. I use TFO's and filed the front of the rear site to be flat instead of curved to do this. Others have posted on the slide and pressure, over time you will get use to the mag release, I traded in a gen 3 for a gen 4 for this, I find it easier on a bigger mag release to press when both are new. As mentioned above, aim, shoot, reload, repeat. Enjoy and welcome to the familia.

I think when they were talking about the plastic sights breaking in that situation.  As long as the sights are steel, it should be fine.  I have Trijicon night sights on my G22, and have had no problem racking it off the sights on several surfaces.

The night sights are fine.  The standard plastic sights are the ones people break all the time.
