Hey I just received my 50 round box of Federal Hst 124 gr. standard pressure rounds. I have some kind of issue maybe not though. If I load just 1 round in the magazine and try and chamber it in my G19, the round just runs into the feed ramp and jams up, maybe even minor set-back. But if I load the magazine full or even half full, all the rounds cycle through the gun, and I wanna state that this is all hand cycling. If I don't cycle it quickly the rounds will jam on the feed ramp. Anyone else?

I figured it out. It because I got this thing from a ban state and the 10 round fag mags are the issue. Fuck. Gonna try a Glock #6 follower/

Riding the mags forward will almost always induce a malfunction. Make sure your hand keeps going off the back of the slide when racking.

That sounds good. Hollow points should work no matter what no matter what capacity mag in a Glock 19....right..?

My G19 has been eating HST ammo of all grains and pressures. Never an issue

Hand cycling is a poor test of whether the rounds will actually cycle when firing.  I recall back during the AWB days some people had issues with JHPs in the 10 round G19 mags when using the 2183-1 followers.  I had some issues with Gold Dots using those followers and it was always with the last round in the mag as I recall.  I replaced all the followers with 9mm3 followers and the problem went away.  I would guess the new 10 round mags would work with the current 9mm6 followers, but don't have any to try.

So the 9mm #3 is what I should get then eh?

I haven't seen a G19 10 round mag since the ban expired in '04, what follower do they come with now?  I seem to recall that some changes were done to the 15 round G19 mags when switching from 9mm3 to 9mm4 followers, so the 9mm3 followers don't work in newer mags and vice versa, but I'm not certain on that and don't know if that applies to the 10 round mags as well.  Maybe give Glock a call and see which follower they recommend?

I had a similar problem with an old G22 magazine.  If I load one round in the mag and try to drop the slide, it will not feed.  But when I load more than one round, it will feed fine.

Turned out to be a weak mag spring.  Try installing a new mag spring.  That should do the trick.

Its saying on the net that the #3 follower is for old style mags..so will they work in my newish 10 round magazines. They have a "1"  on the bottom of the mag by the "Glock" emblem.

What follower is in the mag right now?

I see you're in AZ, why not pick up some 15 round mags to use for SD?  Keep the 10 round mags for range use; even with a different follower the 10 round mags tend not to be quite as reliable as the standard 15 round mags.

call up Glock and ask them for some 9mm3 folowers. they will slip right into and work perfect. fixed all the issues with the 7 10rd mags i have

Then the state passed a mag cap ban

Update. Just shot Fed Hst with the 10 round mags and they cycled just fine. So did the Hornady. I think I will still put the #3 followers in. It says the #3 followers are for the older mags so will they fit in the new 10 round mags? do they need to be fitted.

I had the same issue during the 94 assault weapon ban with some 10 round mags that came with a G19 I bought. The mags had the flat followers and wouldn't feed the last round when I shot Gold Dots. I put the #3 follows in and never had another issue. That will solve your problem.

You should be able to use any ammo regardless of magazine capacity. Do not ride the slide forward, slingshot that bitch.

I am still trying to figure out if I can even use the #3 followers...The net says that they are for the OLD STYLE glock mags..I have a brand new Glock 19.

Stop riding the fucking slide. You should be letting the slide drop freely at all times, not easing it forward with your hand. I guarantee you that this is your issue, and not your fag mags.

My G19 eats everything from any Glock original mag.  10 round, 15 round, gen1 to gen4  - any follower, doesn't matter.
When you load it, let the slide fly.  Never ease it down.
You won't hurt the gun.  The slide flies a lot harder than that when firing, so let it fly!
