My 1989 vintage Glock 17 was looking really bad. I dont mind honest holster wear but it got some scratches that made it look abused, not use.
I removed the sights and stripped all the parts from the slide. I sent Glock the stripped slide and asked them to refinish it for $45.00. I got it back recently, turn around of about 5-weeks. For $45.00 they refinished the slide like new, installed new internal slide parts (firing pin, extractor, ect.) and new (plastic) sights and sent it back Fed-Ex 2nd day. The finish is a nice dark black. Finish is even, no blotchyness or other flaws. The new free parts were a nice added bonus. If anyone is on the fence about sending a slide to Glock for refinishing I would say do it. |
