Found a somewhat local compant on facebook and after talking with one of the guys there decided to have them do some parts on my Glock.

They offer industrial hardcoatings applied on gun parts.  Ive had questionable luck with durakotes, molys, cerakotes, etc..  Figured I'd give this a go.

Heres how my parts came back.  Everything was packaged well and wrapped nicely.

Here are the parts as removed from the wrappers.

Slide done in AlTiN
Locking Block, Trigger Housing Pin, Extractor, Firing Pin Safety, Firing Pin, and Connector done in TiN
Barrel, Slide Stop, and Slide Lock done in TiCN

A few assembled pics.

Turnaround time was about 2 weeks door to door.  Not bad for what had to be quite a bit of work removing the original finishes, polishing the parts, etc...

Here is their facebook page

Going to run a few hundred rounds through it this weekend hopefully and see how it holds up.  Should do pretty well considering this stuff gets used on cutting tools and whatnot.

Kinda cool, very different, thought I'd share.

Thanks for sharing, curious to see how well the finish holds up.

Keep us posted!

Not my thing, but interesting.

Why the coating on the firing pin?  That's the one part you'll hardly ever see.

These coatings are supposed to go beyond just aesthetics and have wear properties well beyond the steel they are applied to.  Also should be easier to clean (clean a Glock, GWHAT?)

Plus I know it's there lol.  The price wasnt much different due to the number of parts I was already sending in.

Im pretty tickled with it right now.

Looks good.

How are you springing that with the material removed? Stock springs or did you adjust?

Thanks all.

Stock recoil spring.  I weighed the slide after having it machined against one of my stock G19 slides and the difference was just over an ounce,  I have run at least 2500 rounds through it since then and havent saw any issues.

Between receiving these parts back and getting my grip chopped RMR'd G17 back together yesterday, Im sort of in Glock heaven lol.

So I have a stupid question. Do the cuts in the slide exposing the barrel serve any purpose or are they purely aesthetic?

If you're a lint-ball collector, they are very functional.

I guess Randy Jackson would say "you made it your's, Dog."

I'd snicker under my breath if I saw someone pull that out at the range, but if you like it, rock on.

Now bust out the soldiering iron and get to work.

The slide cuts are aesthetic, although they did come in handy at a class where we had to soak our hands in icewater for what seemed like 4 hours but was probably closer to 30 seconds, then manipulate the firearm to clear an artificially induced ammo feed malfunction.  With numb wet fingers I was able to lock some skin into those cheese graters and get the gun running fairly easily.

I would never do it to a Glock but i think the 19 is pretty cool.  Something different for sure.

I like it. I especially like how it looks on the 17 with the RMR. Hotrod Glock.  But I like different
