Hey guys/gals. I had a friend give me a glockstore stainless guiderod with stock weight spring for xmas. I installed it and gun seems to function correctly but when you rack it, there is a lot of resistance at first and then it almost feels like the slide "breaks loose" (for lack of a better term) and cycles. It also makes an absurd screeching noise almost like nails on a chalk board. Is this all normal with a stainless rod? Think I'd be better swapping it for a tungston? Factory one broke when I dropped it and the woman stepped on it lol.

I'm getting ready to install the zev tech fulcrum trigger so I'll already have the gun apart. Not that it's a big deal to take it apart again if need be lol

Any help would be great

gen3 or gen4? (ie, 1 piece or 2 piece rod?)

i have all gen3s, but my 27 has a gen4 style 2 piece spring.  i upgraded it to a heavier stainless guide rod, and it screeched too. i didnt care for it, so i switched back to factory for now.

Gen 3 23c.....Probably 800 rounds down the pipe....I have stainless rods in other guns and all of them are noisy. Never had one have that stiffness for the first inch or so when you try to rack it and then feel like it's breaking free from something. But I'm not seeing wear marks anywhere either like if it was rubbing somewhere.
