Can you explain to me what the relief cuts are exactly? The serial dates to October 1993 per the big thread on glocktalk If you look at the picture of the frame with the slide off - the little holes right behind the locking block (on each side)... they're drilled here (incorporated in newer frames but an added 'fix' to older models <<< still not sure when they started doing this in production) to prevent cracking... the frame flexes a lot right there and it was a weak point. The relief cuts 'relieve' the stress in that area for longevity. *ETA: you can also see them between the slide and the frame (under the "A" in your serial number) in the very first pic! |

Ahh I see now, thanks! One more question for you guys. This is a late 93 model, should I take any action regarding the '93 upgrade regarding the double feed/misfire issue? |

The G19 has room for improvement (ergos), but it's the best do-it all handgun on the planet. I have multiples While not the best at anything, it is very good at everything. Right balance of weight, size, capacity, accuracy, durability - IMHO. http://imageshack.us/a/img823/5742/a2ie.png nice. yes I agree, this is my 5th G19 over the years. I'd let em go in search of something else (chasing the dragon of the best compact CCW) and always end up coming back. Since I don't like finger grooves and have no need for a light on a CCW pistol, my quest for another Gen 2 began. As far as shooting goes, I prefer my G17. |

Yes; mine was one of the Gen 2 models sold by Aim last year. The slide stop and magazine release are Vickers, it has a G17 smooth trigger assembly, and on the inside is a Gen 4 'dot' connector. The springs and other items were replaced with new OEM parts, except for the sights. I just got back the original Trijicons back from them with new capsules, so I need to get them reinstalled. Any way you can post a closeup of what those refreshed trijicons look like... I have a dead pair, but I'm not sure it'd be worth the $. I hated redoing the sight paint on those... |

I have an old set I pulled off my carry 19, and replaced with HD's... but I've been meaning to check into this service, in case I find a G26 to round out my collection. |
