What type of malfunctions do you get with your Glock's? I have had FTF, and slide not lock back due to weak ammo and a bad mag, but that is about it.

Quoted: I have a a couple ( literally 2 in over the course of a very long time 10+ years ) FTF , suspect ammo ? Shit happens I guess I only use mags made by Glock , factory ammo and I do clean it from time to time |
| Only issues I have had with my Glock were my fault. 1st was failure to fire, due to reloaded ammo not having the primer fully seated. 2nd was failure to feed, which was caused by a mag being dropped into sugar sand, and I didn't clean it right between stages. Had my Glock for year now and have at least 6,000 rounds through her this year. |

NVD G3 G19 = FTEs and bum extractor. Fixed with new extractor.
PPU G3 G19 = FTEs and doublefeeds. Never could pin down the failures. RTK G3 G17 = BTF constantly. Had to back to Glock. SFX G4 G26 = Failure to go into battery. Fixed with new recoil springs from Glock. The others Glocks I've owned worked great (mostly G17 RTF2s and G4 G19s). |
| Slide stop notch batters into nothingness, Trigger flops around loose in brand new gun, Captive recoil spring breaks while brand new, Captive recoil spring slips over end of rod, Fails to eject after repaired by factory for failure to eject (NOT due to shooter), Factory new magazines which will not give up their ammo (several different manufacturing runs). This is my combined experience with eight Glocks. |
| Last years gen 3 26 perfect except for failure to feed ( slide did not travel far back enough to pick up round from mag) upped my powder charge on the reload and no trouble since. My gen 2 19 has had three fails to eject but they were during a class where we were shooting from unconventional positions weak handed. Between the two guns about 30 thousand rounds fired |
| I've only had 2 fail to fire, 1 fail to extract and 1 stove pipe in the 15+ years of owning 12 of more of them. My carry guns I keep clean but the range/training ones I just shoot the hell out of and add a little oil and clean every so often. It is one gun that I don't lose sleep over and has ruined me on every other firearm I've ever owned. For what Glocks lacks, they make up for in to hell and back reliability. |
only malfunction i ever had was a round that short stroked the gun...upon review i discovered that it was because it was a 9mm and it was fired out of a 40 cal.
PSA: Never let a buddy hand you a mag that he loaded and trust that he didnt accidentally load a 9mm |

In my Gen 3 G19 I have had zero issues with in well over 2,000 rounds, I think I am getting close to 3K actually. I stopped counting a while back. Recently on a long day of shooting, I went through about 500 rounds of various 9mm through that Glock and was starting to see some different ejection toward the end of the day but I cleaned it and it still seems to work perfect.
My Gen 4 G19 has been perfect as well, no where near the round count, probably only about 700 rounds so far. No crazy weird ejection problems or anything. My Gen 2 G19 does double feed and stove pipe quite a bit, more than I trust to carry. I have some parts to swap and see if that works but I think it will be fine, it's a tool, tools wear out. It's was made in 1989 as best as I can track down and no idea how many rounds down the pipe. All guns will fail at a certain point especially if you shoot a lot. |
