Why the Glock 30s? Not really up on the subject, but why the big deal over the slimmer slide?
Seems the 30sf isn't much bigger in the slide, and the frame is where the thickness matters, ref. a CCW "Tell".

the 30 is pretty thick for IWB.  According to their site, there is only .1" difference between the 30sf I had and the 23/19.  That little bit is definitely noticeable .

Sf is short frame not slim. The grip is shorter from front to back not less wide.

the 30s has the same slide as the 36 which is narrower than the 23/19 and way narrower than the 30sf/30/21 making it more comfortable to carry.

Yeah I am aware of that. I just get sick of reading post where people confused short frame with slim frame. I agree the difference is the 30s slide would absolutely make a difference for carrying.

Might notice I wrote slim SLIDE.
Have anything to write on the subject at hand?

Frame is the same width for both. The weight of the 30sf slide reduces recoil.  It is not a big deal to carry IWB. They are both thicker than 1911s. Both go bang when you pull the trigger.

Yep. I already commented the thinner slide makes a difference.

Im glad i saw this post.  I was considering picking up one of the 30's for a summer time carry.  I like the fact that its 10 rounds of 45.  So I take it that the consensus is that the 30s is the slimmer of the 30's.  Even though it may not be much?

It's funny to watch people try to correct someone and fail lol

I have no idea why but the 30S feels and handles so much better for me. It's still the same frame as a G30 SF but somehow the combo of that SF frame and the 36 slide makes for a very good carry gun in .45

I had a 30 and sold it. The one I had did not have a light rail and I wanted one. When I got this job my gun was issued and I had no choice and was not allowed to carry my own, so I have not replaced it.

I have shot the 30S. I could really tell no difference in the two. The 30S seemed to have a little more muzzle flip, but I attributed that to the lighter slide. If it was me, I'd just get a 30SF. The difference is so minimal that I'm not sure why they bothered with the 30S.

Pretty long read, but pretty much sums up why i love my G30.

ETA: That is probably the most comprehensive review/report I've seen done on any firearm.
