I have 2 Gen 4 Glock 19's, first one made in Austria, second made in USA. No issues with the Austria unit. Fired 3 mags through the USA version and discovered parts fell out of it at some point while shooting (slide lock & spring), fortunately I found them on the ground. Had to replace the slide lock spring on it. Wasn't overly excited about that.

I wasn't giving an opinion which is what most people here give, I was just sharing an incident that happened. Take it for what it's worth as one person's experience. I would say that made in one place, assembled in another does not necessarily result in the same as made in different places and assembled in the same place. Since you have stated it twice now in the same thread, you seem to think it does. Again, never said one was better than the other, just was giving my experience. I replaced the slide lock spring which after searching I found was not exactly a rare issue with Gen 4's. Until I get some more range time with the USA G19 with the replacement spring, the Austrian G19 will remain by my side. |

I guess I will go to the range with the new one, and test it. At least I still have my trusty Gen 3 "Made in Austria" G19. |

The USA Gen4 19's I've seen, including my 8/13 production, don't have the little nub on the back of the frame, for snapping the beavertail back strap into place. (Austria made Gen4 pictured) http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk4/Bram556/331_zpsb38b43f8.jpg Also, the finish on the USA made Glocks seems to be more resilient than the recent production Austrian made guns. It looks similar to the finish on my Gen3s. (USA made at top) http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk4/Bram556/19finish_zps44a5be51.jpg Haven't made it to the range with the USA version but my 7/13 production Austrian made Gen4 19 has 1000 trouble-free rounds through it. Interesting and very observant Bram |

No worries mate, but I've seen the same issue you mentioned happen to "Austria" made Glocks also... people are the weak link in both cases, as the broken spring is probably related to assembly. Like you, this has been my experience..... not my opinion. I found some of the Glock manufacturing information very interesting and will at some point probably own a "US" made Glock. Glock produces about 80K guns a month, mistakes happen.... ~g |
