Looking at the Trijicon 'Bright & Tough' and 'HD' night sights. Anyone have experience with either of these? Are they both tritium? I'm having a hard time determining pros and cons of each.
Thanks. |

HD's are my preference, I've got them on the following Glocks:
G26gen4 G19gen4 G17gen4 G34gen4 G21gen4 G20gen4 G29sf G23gen4 Use them on anything I carry and or compete with. Quick to acquire, and an excellent choice for low light/night shooting. Price, and the fact that in 10-12 years I'll be spending a fortune to refresh them are the only cons that I can think of. Find someone who has a set installed and check them out, 90% of the people that have shot my guns comment the HD's.... and it has always been a positive statement, with most purchasing them very shortly after having a chance to use them. ~g |

$54 for Trijicon HD's? Where? Link? I've heard Glock will install night sights for $57, but I doubt they are Trijicon HD's. I have no preference in color, and use both orange and yellow front sights, love them both. ~g No, thats to replace the lamps when they go dim. |
| I have the HD's with the yellow dot on the FP. I absolutely love them and they were my first night sights I have ever had and my first glock. Couldn't be happier but Glock will do their branded NS for $57 and if you're not looking for any specific for NS you can't beat that price and I've heard good things about theirs. |

@ivan1..... thanks for the clarification, I've purchased quite a few sets of HD sights.... and was a little worried.
Nothing wrong with factory Glock night sights, regular Trijicon's, or Mepro's.... they all work very similar and only have slight variation to them.... I just find the HD's faster and easier to acquire. They cost more than the other, but in my opinion they are worth the extra $$$. ~g |

The Trijicon HD sights have a colored ring around the front sight tritium for faster acquisition in the light.
Trijicon sights are great. For a three dot set-up, I don't really consider any other sight. Ameriglo makes good sights, too. I'm not sure if they manufacture the sight and use Trijicon lamps or if Trijicon manufactures the sight and Ameriglo manufactures the lamps. I currently have Amerigo i-dots on my Shield, but it's a two dot set-up. I am a believer in ledge sights, though. My i-dots don't have a ledge. I eventually plan to replace them with Heinie sights. I would like Heinie two dot ledge sights on my G26, as well. The Glock night sights for $57 are a great cost conscious option. Pretty sure they are made by Meprolight, but they say Glock on them. |

I was leaning towards the Bright & Tough because I think I like the idea of green front and rear. But if the HD's are worth it, i'll go with them. Yellow or Orange? The trijicon hd's are also three green dots but only in the dark. The front colored piece is for faster acquisition in the day but its painted with a glow in the dark paint. Give it a quick flash of light and the outer ring lights up at night as well. |

I went with orange since it's very similar to the red fiber optic sights on my 34 and 35. The yellow might be a little brighter and easier to pick up. |

There are pictures of both in the sight picture sticky, see links below. The 'Bright & Tough' look like standard white 3 dot sights during the day. The HD sights have a bright orange or yellow front sight and since the rear tritium vials don't have rings around them the rear sight looks almost like an all black sight during the day. In the dark they look the same - 3 green dots.
